An Ideal One-Volume Compendium
At over 500 pages, this is well-worth the extra time it takes to get in hardcover. It collects shared creeds and statements (Nicene, Athanasian and Chalcedonian) as well as the Confession of Dositheus which followed the critical Synod of Jerusalem in 1672.In addition, it has the influential two catechisms of St. Philaret of Moscow and that of St. Peter Mogila. Finally, it concludes with the Synodikon of Orthodoxy, a collection of blessings and anathemas begun following the seventh ecumenical council and updated with condemnations of later heresies (e.g., Barlaam). It would have been nice to have all the acts of the Synod of Jerusalem, but that would probably have bulked it up to 700 plus pages, so that's nitpicking on my part. What it has is essential and difficult to otherwise collect. Well worth having.Addendum: yes, the copyright holder has since emigrated to the No True Scotland of Reformed Christianity, and spars frequently with his former co-religionists. He also no doubt has a full platter of arguments about Arminianism, infralapsarianism vs. supralapsarianism and what presuppositionalism really entails, too. The point is, that's his problem, not yours. And you can ironically still benefit from his work. Anyway, if you are looking into Orthodox theology, this is one to have.

An indispensable resource
While these documents are available for individual purchase elsewhere, most other editions that I have seen are awful reproductions by independent publishers. This text is very readable and easy on the eyes, and having all of these documents together in one volume is very convenient. Of course the content itself is a great compilation of Orthodox dogma. This present book would be an excellent source to provide catechesis to those interested in learning more about the Orthodox tradition.

MAGNIFICENT overview of Orthodox teaching!
This is a magnificent overview of Eastern Orthodox theology / teaching. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it lacks an index. Add a detailed, accurate index and this book would deserve 6 out of 5 stars!

Documents for Orthodox Christian catechesis.
This is an excellent compilation of authoritative documents for the catechesis of Orthodox Christians. I like having these documents all together in one book. The only criticism I have is that this is not a hardcover edition with a Smythe sewn binding so it will last for decades. I won't take off review stars for that. Its still an excellent book.

Premier Orthodox Catechism in English!
This compilation in English of every authoritative pronouncement and text of the Orthodox Christian Church on its faith and morality is the most complete catechism ever produced. Clear, concise and authoritative. A must for every English-Speaking Orthodox Christian.

An Incredible Resource!
I am so pleased to be able to have these principle documents of the Church all together in one place. This is a treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom. It is likely the single most comprehensive and authoritative resource on what the Orthodox Church teaches and believes.

I like having it...I don't like reading it
The sentence structure of the long catechism is agonizingly awkward where nothing flows properly.EDIT:The individual that compiled, arranged and edited the contents of this book is no longer an Orthodox priest. His name is Joshua Schooping. He graduated from St. Vladimir's Seminary and he has converted to a Protestant priest If that's not bad enough, St Vladimir's Seminary is a notorius hotbed of modernism. They are the largest Orthodox book publisher in America and they never fail to rewrite the Forwards to books they publish in order to include their modernist teachings.
