High quality
This knife is very sharp and durable. The fit and finish is excellent. Well worth the money for a quality American made knife.

Not a great design but excellent steel.
This knife was a gift from a friend. My first impressions are as follows overall fit and finish is not bad except the edges of the liners are almost sharp, to the point where you feel like you could almost cut yourself. The scales are wonderfully polished, but this results in a very slick handle. Sadly, there were light surface scratches all over the front scale, like it had been used. Hopefully the G10 will act somewhat like Micarta and get stickier when wet (time will tell). The knife is very heavy, feeling very solid in hand. For such a short cutting edge, though, the handle verges on bulky. Not "overbuilt" or satisfyingly filling, like my ZT folders, just bulky. This, to me, is very subjective. YMMV. The clip does not allow deep carry and limits one to carry it only right-hand, tip-down. This is not ideal for a "tactical" use blade with manual deployment. On to the blade itself. It is made of great steel (I really like my other knives in CPM S30V) and is decently sharp out of the box. (Please keep in mind I haven't gotten around to testing its performance yet,so I can't speak knowledgeably of the blade's heat treatment.) Rough bead-blasted finish is even with some small scratches around the thumb studs, but as this is evidently designed to be a hard-use folder and not a safe queen (unless you think ugly is pretty), that's not really a big issue. Yes, ugly. Uglier than the photos, to be sure. But again, it's designed to be a user. Here's where my biggest problem with this knife lies:In spite of a large handle, they designed this tool with a choil extending well into the blade instead of a cutout in the abundant grip. This leaves less than 3" of edge. Over-abundant handle with a comparatively tiny blade. This plus butt-ugly plus slick handle with sharp liner edges makes this an average player in the current market. At this price for an American-made folder with S30V steel, however, and Amazon's return policy, you might consider trying it out. Just not one I would have bought myself. I think the line-up from Zero Tolerance is a better bet.
