It is made from a strain of pure cultivated Cordyceps sinensis recognized by the Chinese Edible and Medicinal Fungi Research Institutions as very similar to wild Cordyceps sinensis. Because wild Cordyceps is rare and difficult to harvest, due to its harsh growing environment, efforts have been made to cultivate Cordyceps mycelia for commercial application. It contains cordycepic acid, a polysaccharide considered to be the major active component. Cordyceps also contains many other ingredients, including proteins, peptides, polysaccharides, nucleic acids such as adenosine, fatty acids, sterols, vitamins and minerals. It has been shown safe to use and supports the body in fighting: asthma, senility, chronic fatigue, sexual functions, hyperglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, hypothyroidism, chronic bronchitis, infectious hepatitis, osteoporosis, diabetes, heart conditions, stroke, arthritis or any problems with the liver, lungs or muscles.
