Great figure
This wave 3 of The Walking Dead figures are a noticeable progression from Wave 1. Merle Dixon actually looks like the actor Michael Rooker who plays Merle Dixon. The figure has great articulation, some great detailed accessories as well. Two different guns, a knife and his signature artificial hand. I also like that McFarlane is continuing the theme of changing the picture on the card. Wave 1 was just dingy and bloody looking, Wave 2 was Herschel's farm and Wave 3 is the prison. I can't wait to see what is in store for Wave 4. At Toy fair 2013 I saw a preview for the next Wave and there is a figure of Carl that should be part of Wave 4. This series keeps getting better and better. Now that Daryl and Merle are reunited in the show, you can reunite them in action figure form as well.*NOTE* There has been an overwhelming amount of people on here complaining about Amazon's packaging of this figure. As an avid action figure collector, I have had this problem a few times now with ordering action figures from Amazon. I figured out awhile back that the best way to circumnavigate this problem (granted I realize we shouldn't have to do anyhting to get around this problem, it shouldn't be a problem in the first place) is to order more than one figure at a time, or order a Blu-Ray or book at the same time, then they typically all get packaged in a bigger, more sturdy box. I find anything I order just one of, i.e book, movie, action figure, shirt, tends to get terrible treatment in regards to its packaging and handling. And of course anything that gets shipped USPS looks like someone danced on top of it. Hope this problem gets resolved soon and everyone starts getting quality products delivered.

"Now... how's about a big hug for your old pal Merle?"
After a frustrating hunt for Merle in various stores around my area, I finally decided to just buy him off Amazon before the price went through the roof, like with Daryl (since that is, unfortunately, legal to do in the United States). And I'm glad I made that choice! With his knife hand and being armed to the teeth, Merle might be one of the coolest action figures I've ever bought, and he makes an awesome addition to my "Walking Dead" collection.I've seen a lot of reviewers complaining that the cardboard backing was bent when they ordered this from Amazon. I'm pleased to say that mine was in pristine shape; not that it really mattered to me, as I like to take my action figures out of their boxes and actually enjoy having them properly on display.Merle is surprisingly durable for his size, and every joint on his body moves, allowing you to pose him in a variety of ways. The assault rifle strap could be a little shorter (should you choose to sling it across his back), but otherwise there is nothing to complain about (and that's an incredibly minor detail). The spit n' image of actor Michael Rooker, this is one very detailed figure that I'm proud to have on display when the dead come knocking.

Great figure but the bayonet tip broke off
When I ordered this from amazon I couldn't wait to get it. Right when I opened the package I was trying to get his gun in his hand and my hand swiped over the bayonet tip, I barely touched it and I looked down and it was gone. It has broken off 3 times and I've glued it on with super glue every time. They should have made the bayonet tip bendy like Michonnes sword. I mean you can't have Merle without his bayonet. The bayonet has probably broken off the other two times because I was playing with it. I'm 14 years old so ya. So if your buying this to play with it you have to be careful. If your buying it just to set up some where for collecting then it's the figure for you. But still they should have made Merle's bayonet bendy because this is an action figure and action figures are meant for playing with sometimes. Most people probably collect them but this is just my opinion. Other than that this action figure looks just like Merle and goes great with my collection. I'm almost done collecting all of them. I have Daryl with his motorcycle left which doesn't come out till March 31. Penny walker the governors daughter, Merle Walker, and all of the other walkers. I have 3 walkers right now. Then series 6 comes out in October which includes: Hershel, Abraham Ford, a zombie, and a new Rick. I don't know what the other one is.

Stinkpalm this guy at your own peril.
Michael Rooker has played some memorable characters in his career, but perhaps none as memorable as Merle Dixon--the bigoted, criminal, one-handed, redneck you love to hate, or possibly hate to love--from the AMC TV show The Walking Dead. This figure, based on Season 3 of the AMC series, is highly detailed and has a truly accurate facial sculpt of the actor. Collectors know the previous figures based on the TV show looked nothing like the actors on the series.Merle comes with a handgun that fits in to a holster sculpted on to his wasit, as well as a knife (which fits in to another sculpted holster) and machine gun. It was a little disappointing, given McFarlane Toys' predilection for making figures with removable body parts, that Merle's "stump cover" and blade aren't removable. However, that's only a slight drawback. He has articulation on his shoulders, knees, ankles, and left wrist. He swivels at the waist, head, and above both knees.Overall this is likely the second best AMC Walking Dead figure McFarlane Toys has yet to put out; he's only outdone by the excellent Michonne figure, also available in series 3.

Great Figure, BEWARE THE PACKAGING!!
I have to agree with the other reviewers here.. The Merle Dixon figure is seriously awesome and bears an uncanny resemblance to the actor, however I feel everyone should heed the warning's about the shoddy packaging. My figure came in a cardboard "envelope" that was too small which resulted in the figure's packaging being bent so it would fit in the envelope. In addition to the creases this caused the plastic part of the packaging was dented in as well on the top and I was surprised to find the entirety of the plastic was covered in dust and hair.Needless to say because of this I'm very disappointed as I was not planning on opening the figure. Please, if you intend to purchase this figure look elsewhere or you'll regret it!
