Entertaining fast read.
Read the first book ( A Job From Hell (Ancient Legends #1)) free on my Kindle. Liked it enough to buy the second. Similar, yet different. Still a good read. Recommend reading the first book in the series to fully appreciate the second, but I think it will stand on its own. I enjoy fantasy epics, thrillers, sci-fi and don't read much paranormal romance, but have strayed into this genre for something new. The first book was a pleasant surprise, with the authors' second effort not letting me down. Characters are likable and storyline is easy to follow.

Fantastic Read!
I was excited to get my hands on this book! I had read book one and was hooked. I had met Cass and Dallas in `A Job From Hell' and LOVED their characters. To the world, Cass is like any other teenage girl. She has lots of friends, loves to shop, and has a great job in customer service. But she hides a deep dark secret from the mortal world-she is half demon, half angel...and Lucifer's daughter. Rebelling against her father's wishes, she mingles with humans and blends in without anyone suspecting a thing. This is the world and life she adores. She's not into oven-heat, torture, and hanging out with Dad and his demons. Maybe it has something to do with her angel DNA.Falling in love with a mortal was the last thing she ever expected to happen. When she meets Dallas, she is immediately drawn to him. She can't deny the connection...the chemistry between them. Little do the two of them know, they share an ancient bond. When Cass is called back to Hell to help with a major campaign for Dad, she is heartbroken to leave Dallas behind. She wants to bring him. But how does she tell him that her dad is the Devil himself and Hell isn't some fairy tale made up to scare people? Simple. She doesn't! Dallas is led to believe her father is a normal human being who runs Disneyland. He thinks he's there to help run a major campaign for the theme park. The twists and turns will leave you doubled over in laughter as she tries to hide their true location.Cass is anxious to get this assignment done and get back to Earth until she learns that once she turns 18 in a few weeks, she is bound to Hell forever. The only way to break the curse is to get free-spirit Dallas to marry her. Things only get complicated when Dallas's sister, Amber and her hunky vampire boyfriend, Aiden are forced to hide out in Hell because they are being chased by powerful forces. Amber holds a unique gift that the Immortal world will kill for. Another entity has also put a target on Dallas so it can seek revenge on Aiden. Cass swears to protect her one true love at all costs.Amber warns Dallas that Cass is nothing but trouble. Amber knows all about Cass's secret Immortal world. She knows dating an Immortal firsthand isn't easy. She doesn't want the same for her brother and feels as if though she has to protect him.Cass is beside herself. How does a girl get a guy to marry her with a troublesome future sister-n-law meddling and standing in the way? How does she persuade The Prince of Darkness himself to let his little girl spread her wings and fly out of the nest for good? And there's more obstacles standing in the way-Cass also has to get permission to get married from all three of her aunts who can't agree on a single thing. This book is suspenseful, fast-paced, and you'll find yourself rooting for Cass. You will not believe all the twist and turns this plot takes. The characters are compelling and you will fall in love with them. The ending is a real shocker! I would recommend this book to everyone! This my favorite fantasy series ever. I know you will enjoy it as much as I do. : )

Bk#2 in the Ancient Legends Series ...
MY REVIEWI was gifted this book by Jayde Scott as a thankyou for reviewing Bk#1 in the Ancient Legend Series and in exchange for an honest review. The cover makes me initially think of "turmoil" and "water", the girl on the cover looks lonely and rather "sorry for herself" So after reading the book, what do I think? I think the girl on the cover is Theo who is described as alone and depressed etc. I won't say why as I consider that a spoiler! The rather grey surroundings I think are portraying Distros which is one of the realms of hell. Apparently there are several dimensions of Hell. Distros is one of the nicer levels of Hell were people are left for a while to contemplate, and then eventually go on to Heaven. So this book does feature Amber and Aidan from Bk#1 but the central character of this book is Cassie, the devils daughter, ad so second in command in the realm known as Hell.I really loved the character of Cassie in Bk1 one, in this book she seems a little tamer, not as confident and bolshy as she was in Bk1. Perhaps that could be explained by being in her fathers realm for most of the book, whom intimidates her quite a bit, as he wants her to toughen up as one day she will take over the running and torturing that goes on in Hell. Also because she has learnt her "fate" that if she doesn't meet and marry "the one" by her eighteenth birthday, she will be permanently tied to hell for all eternity.Cassie has a head start with her goal of marriage before her eighteenth in that she has already met Dallas. Dallas is Amber's brother who also appeared briefly in Bk#1. He seems to be in love with Cassie but would he feel the same if he knew her true identity? Thats what is making Cassie all the more nervous as she tries to hide the fact that they are in Hell whilst they are "visiting" her father "Bob". Some of the explanations for incidents and the sights that are there are really humorous and make you laugh out loud.Amber and Aidan are on the run from Rebecca and her "Shadow" allies, and cassie offers them a place to stay in Distros without asking her father. Imagine what will happen when Cassie's father Lucifer/Beelzebub finds out? Immortals should never be allowed into any dimension of Hell. Ten again neither should Mortals like Dallas!Cassie's father tries intimidating Dallas but Dallas just takes it in his stride. Hmm could Dallas really be "the one" what will his reaction be when Cassie's "secret" is revealed? Is Dallas also hiding secrets from Cassie? So did I enjoy this book? Yes..but feel I have to be totally honest in that it wasn't as great as Bk#1 Would I recommend this book? Yes as it was still good. Would I read more in this series? Yes I will still give the following books in this series a go. Would I read more by Jayde Scott? Yes.

Book 1 far better
The same grammatical and typing errors as book 1, which are as annoying as ever. This book however didn't have the fluidity and depth as the first. In fact the whole book is based on 2 characters that have no substance at all, also the characters from book one were not tied in well at all. They felt unnecessary and awkwardly placed. The plot was slow and boring. Book 1 had a barrage of errors and the writing clumsy yet the story an see characters had depth and held my attention. I'm sorry to say that I feel the author is an amateur with no professional support. I will keep going however as I'm curious to see how her skills improve or not as the case may be.

So disappointing!
After really enjoying the first book in the series, and liking the character Cass (who is the main character in this book, I am SO disappointed in this book. The charcters are weak and not very believable. Even characters that were well developed in the first book seem to have lost any sort of individuality in this book. The storyline is a joke, completely ridiculous in places. I am struggling to finish it at all.

Fantastic!!
I stumbled across the Ancient Legends series by accident and have been totally smitten with Jayde Scott since. Totally fantastic writer who captures your imagination within the first few pages of each and every book. I read all of the Ancient Legends series' in a matter of days and I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. Thoroughly recommend these books!

Beelzebub Girl
Cass takes the spotlight in this ebook and she's in love with Dallas. What had me cracking up was Cass made Dallas believe they were in California when they were really in her father's house. Her father is Lucifer. lol. The old characters appear too from the previous ebooks which is good for continuity. Well done JS!

I have been hit by scott and her writing and characters. Canβt get enough of these people. Love the writing style its easy to follow with depth and character to each person and leads nicely to each book even if they are not in the same series I feel like there is a small community that I know all about. Love it
