Loved this to show staff how fast germs can spread and the importance to be mindful in washing of the hands

Works great. A little goes a long way!
I loved this product. It worked great! I used it to demonstrate how dirty hands can bring germs into patient rooms at the hospital where I work. After the demonstration I used it check how well hands are washed. A little bit of this goes a long way! I have a lot left over and can’t wait to use it again.

Works great!
First off, be aware that the flashlight doesn't come with batteries - you'll need 3 AAAs. I have a tendency to not open packages until the last minute when I actually need it, so I'm glad I checked this out beforehand. Used for a cub scout meeting of 2nd and 3rd graders to learn about the spread of germs. I sprinkled some on my hand and then shook each of their hands, reapplying to my own between each to make sure everyone got a good amount. Then they walked around the room touching things. The powder is reactive enough, and the light bright enough, that we could see the glow even without turning off the lights - though it was certainly cooler when we did turn them off! It also stuck to the hands well enough that when they "washed" their hands like kids normally do (i.e. a quick splash of water), they were still coated - but it came off when they washed properly. And they were genuinely curious to check each time!

Fun for the class
Coupled with a Mark Rober video and activity, this was Lots of fun, but my students had to be told repeatedly that the white stuff wasn’t actually germs! Very funny. I love how easily the white gets passed around the room without even knowing it! It was everywhere and was a good example of how we spread germs. Also, it demonstrates how we need to wash thoroughly to remove germs, and not just our hands, but everything we touch! The doors, chairs, counters, even pencils need to be washed or the “germs” spread again! Love this activity.

Germs Yuck!
This is an amazing way to teach children about handwashing and germs. I use this in my classroom every year.
