Convenient and as advertised
Its great not having to carry the massive charging brick, just need this one cable. Well worth it.

Worked great for my trip
There were no options for my ancient surface pro 3 to externally charge it when I originally purchased it. On a whim, I searched to see if there were any USB C -> Surface cables out there for my recent trip and stumbled across this one. It worked great with my Ravpower 20000 mah 60watt power bank. I can't speak for longevity, but it was great being able to charge it when an outlet wasn't handy.

High quality, but still skimps on important details
EDIT: after 5 months of use the top of the surface connect housing has come loose and the cable is having internal connectivity issues.The cable only works if I wiggle the wire where it meets the surface connector suggesting something inside has come loose.The Good: I've been using this cable for about a week now with a Surface Pro 4 (i5 8GB) and a Google Pixelbook 45W charger (W16-045N5A), so far the combination works as just fine.The LED doesn't come on until the port is connected to the Surface so there is some sort of standby or current detection implemented.The Bad:-The pins are LIVE when not plugged into a Surface, with my charger I read 15V on pins.-I plugged the cable into a my Essential Phone 27W USB-C brick (KS-27A-090300HU) and got 9V at the pins which is slightly concerning.I'm hesitant to see if the cable will spark as I don't have a spare cable or brick

Works perfectly on any Surface PC
This cable perfectly powers any Surface PC from an Omnicharger, and automatically picks the correct voltage from the USB-C port.

Works very well, will work at 12v or 15v
Worls very well, will negotiate either 12v or 15v if available so a very good product. Connect the usbc plug first then attach to tablet. I like that I can carry a much smaller adapter than the original surface one and I can use said adapter for my phone as well.

I'm sure this works great, but don't buy for Book 2

Make sure your charger supports 15V/3A
Tried this cable with a 15V/2A charger (Apple 30W USB-C brick) and the light on the cable would just keep flashing and wouldn’t charge the Surface Pro. Got a RavPower 65W 4-port adapter (which supports 15V/3A mode) and the cable works properly. Shame the cable doesn’t work at lower wattage modes, since my original Surface Pro charger was only about 32W. Also not clear if the cable supports higher wattage modes (e.g. 65W from my new adapter).Otherwise seems nicely made and magnetizes into the Surface Pro port well.
