Perfect Mate for 4th Gen (Fall 2015) Apple TV Games
I just bought a 4th-generation (Fall 2015) AppleTV, and immediately I recognized its amazing potential as a gaming system - Pangea Software's "Air Wings" is *amazing* on my large screen TV. While the new Bluetooth Siri Remote does have the ability to be a game controller with its built-in gyroscope and accelerometer, I immediately found myself wanting the comfort of an Xbox-style game controller in my rather large hands, whereas the AppleTV remote is really small and pretty uniform, so it's easy to grab it the wrong way and accidentally press buttons during game play.I had an older Bluetooth game controller I use with one of my Android boxes for MAME classic game emulation, but it turned out not to be IOS compatible, so I had to search for another option. The reviews of the SteelSeries controllers were very position, and the Stratus XL was the best, according to the review.I wasn't disappointed. This is a fine controller - as sensitive as the ones that came with my Xbox One and Xbox 360, and everything works just as you'd expect. So, I'm licking my chops waiting for the next best IOS games that are optimized for the new AppleTV....controller in hand.Pros:• Classic design - no surprises, buttons are all in the correct places• Joysticks work as expected, with virtually the same travel as the Xbox equivalents• Two rechargeable AA batteries will power this controller long enough - three days of constant gaming hasn't really made a dent in the charge yet• Weight is just about right - most third part controllers are too light• Plastics are smooth - no rough edges• Works great with my 4th Gen AppleTVCons:• A bit pricey• No joystick press down buttons - not a big deal but will miss them eventually• No option for recharging dock - must use AA batteries• Some games require that you use the remote to enter text since the controller can't do that, but that is likely more the developer's fault in their controller support

SteelSeries.com is A+ by listing every game controller works with, but limited iOS games. But works like a dream
Yeah yeah 5 stars.....would I buy it if I could time machine back to that moment = N O I wouldn't.-I do NOT like this for IOS/Apple games. So far it ONLY works with StarWars KOTOR-Knights of the Old Republic.-it doesn't work for Xcom, doesn't work for EA starships,,,does work for Grim fandango. Which is on sale RIGHT NOW January 2nd for $5 bucks.--doesn't work for FTL and star command,,,my wife said "fallout shelter DOES work, but that it's a waste.---so for $50-$70 bucks = you better know 100% by checking the steel series AWESOME website to see it works for you're favorite game.---The steel series website = A+ ! Yup the official website list every single game the controller works for.--cross you're fingers that they get Xcom working soon.

Minimal OS X compatibility despite claims. Otherwise, a solid controller.
Bought this specifically because it claimed OS X compatibility. Minimal. Works great on iOS. Nice feel, although I prefer the Xbox configuration.

Works with MacOS High Sierra, WINE, and cloud gaming - without conversion issues or 3rd-Party tools!
I game on my Mac, and beyond the few games that have native Mac clients that means I use Crossover, WINE, and cloud gaming (specifically PaperSpace). Every gamepad I have tried has had massive issues - either requiring 3rd-Party software to configure them for Mac (which goes haywire in emulators and over cloud connections) or just plain didn't work on the Mac at all even when the manufacturer said they would Most commonly, things like the analog sticks becoming partially mapped to the trigger buttons with no amount of manual mapping fixing the issue were happening.Unlike every other gamepad I've tried on my Mac, this one actually supports the MacOS platform properly. The gamepad connected over bluetooth with zero issue, and worked seamlessly in all tests I ran both locally and over my cloud gaming desktop. No 3rd-Party tools were required, the Mac actually recognized where all the buttons were and what they were supposed to do. Some games will require re-mapping of buttons, of course, but at least all the buttons are recognized on connection. One drawback - the analog sticks do NOT have buttons on them - they cannot be depressed/clicked. That will cause problems in games that cannot re-map critical functions off the analog stick buttons. Otherwise, so far it has been working exactly as expected.

Works Great in iOS, but has Steam Problems in OSX
Compared to my awful iOS experience with IPEGA controllers, setting up this SteelSeries controller on our iPads was a dream. Just put in the batteries, turn it on, and it pairs without a problem. Download the SteelSeries app (which you're prompted to do by the OS) and away you go. My kids are happily playing Minecraft and the Lego games with it after literally 2 minutes of setup. I never even had to open the manual. My only complaint is that I've never been able to make the controller work with any games on my iMac, even though it pairs just fine. But this may be Steam's fault. It sees the controller in its options, and I "added" it there, but the actual Steam games never seem to be able to detect it. I don't have any non-Steam games that use gamepads, so I can't say if a non-steam OSX game would work with it.

Absolutely quality controller for IOS Apple TV
This is one of the few controllers that pairs up with APPLE TV. I bought games for the kids to play that only used the game controller for interface and then the old controller got worn out (or thrown...) and needed to be replaced. This was recommended by my gamer brother-in-law and despite the cost, I went for it given he recommended nothing else would be equivalent.Fits adult or kids hands OK, has plenty of buttons and thumb joysticks. I wish it had a feedback (vibrate) though. I am sure vibrate might not be supported in many games available through iTunes.

Great Gaming Device for iPad/iphone
Yeah this is great, lego star wars on the ipad is totally playable, feels exactly like an xbox/playstation pad. Also good for racing games. Note not all games work, there is a list on the steelseries website, there are many different games that do work.
