Good reference material for masters and enthusiests only
Not sure what to make of this. I'm heavily into feng shui, and I'm not sure of a practical use for this in either the flying star, or mansion formulas. And yes, I suppose you could use the lo pan and divide it up 64 ways. Maybe for the water formulas. I don't know. Unfortunately they don't really teach us how to use the lo pan to that detail to us westerners in books.Date selection possibly is a better use for this yet not sure of what practical use this is unless someone has a calendar that calculates each day's energies. Tedious unless you have a computer program. There are already free websites that do some analysis of your 4 pillar chart and compares it to the year's forecast in a broad sense.Chinese astrological matches might be a little better. But I only put a little bit of faith in them.Overall I see this generally as a toy or reference material to use for masters who may want to pursue some either theoretical uses in certain aspects of chinese metaphysics, or practical use for date and location selection. But there are better tools out for that already that I use. So I think the main use that I can think of mainly is for possibly forecasting of dates. But then again, you could argue that there are already free websites with masters that do this, and do this more correctly by looking at which elements are going to be strong within a year/month/etc... to predict weather and earth changes.Overall I still consider it a good book. But it satisfies such a narrow niche that I can only see this as being useful for a very small segment of the population.
