Planet Bike Alloy Aluminum Water Bottle Cage, Black

I have several of these bottle cages on various bikes. Some old, some new, all still looking great and perfectly functional. I've had similar ones from other companies where the welds eventually split; every one of these Planet Bike units are still intact after thousands of miles on the road/trail.They're dirt cheap, sturdy, light, hold bottles of various sizes, come in lots of colors, and... that's pretty much it. What else do you need from a bottle cage?You could spend several times more and save a few grams but, honestly, most of us could lose a few (kilo)grams of body weight and just get this great bottle cage instead. There's beauty in their simplicity, and there's a reason that this is the stock bottle cage on the display rack at so many local bike shops.Just get one; you won't regret it.

A basic, affordable, solid choice. Well built for the price. I could see this possibly scratching metal water bottles, but for a typical plastic sport bottle it's just fine. You could always get a slightly lighter carbon cage, but this really doesn't weigh very much. Unless you're a very serious racer a few extra grams isn't going to matter much.Not much else to say! It works as intended, was easy to attach to my bike, and hasn't failed after about ~1,500 miles!

The black matte looks beautiful on my bike and fits my specialized water bottle. It will not fit a cheapo water bottle, pay the small extra money for a specialized bottle and you will be happy. It's reusable and less impact on the environment than those disposable water bottles anyway!My main grip was my bike didn't have a way to attach this item and it included no hardware. So I had to buy my own hardware. Make sure you can attach this to your bike before you buy it otherwise you'll have to purchase separate hardware.

I ordered this one because I also have a Planet Bike rear rack on my bicycle that I'm happy with, and I'm just as happy with the bottle cage. Solid construction, easy installation, holds my 24 oz Nalgene bottle tightly without being too hard to get out.

I've used plastic before, but I come back to lightweight aluminum bottle holder. It holds my 32oz bottle firmly. Doesn't come out on bumps, but pulls out easily. A great fit.

These are relatively inexpensive and a good shape, and i generally like Planet Bike stuff, but they are prone to breaking if you put much stress on them. Once the weld breaks that holds the tubing together, it's pretty useless. I've broken two of this brand and one of another brand. Now i buy resin (plastic) cages to replace them instead of the metal ones (this one: CatEye Bottle Cage). Not only do the better ones handle flexing better without breaking, but they work better with stainless steel water bottles.

This is a good, standard water bottle cage. Exactly what you'd expect when you think of a bicycle water bottle cage.

All metal.Good workmanship.Good looking. Only issue,I have not received any screws to mount cage on bike frame.My bike is vintage huffy without any screws provided for any mounting.
