Good for ballpoint or rollerball, not so much for fountain pen writing
This is a fine writing paper with a laid finish. I can write satisfactorily on this paper with a Fine nib fountain pen, but I really need a Medium or Broad nib to write easily. The surface is not as smooth as some other papers (e.g., Clairefontaine). The look of the paper is elegant and the feel of it is substantial. I would compare it with Crane writing papers in quality. G. Lalo Verge paper is laid, but has no watermark (watermarks bother some folks who view them as advertisements). It also does not have any labeling printed on it (as the more recent Crane products have).I prefer a smoother finish on papers I use with a fountain pen (e.g., Clairefontaine or Rhodia) to G. Lalo. If you use ballpoint or rollerball pens, or fountain pens with a broad nib, this paper will work fine. It is elegant, substantial, and will make a statement about you and your correspondence.

Outstanding Writing paper
Great writing paper is very hard to find. I have experimented with MANY types of "high quality" writing paper and have had varying results. I can say that this is one of the finest tablets I have come across. The paper has a nice linen feel to it and your ink will not blot as you write. The pages also tear away from the tablet with ease. No more tearing! As another feature, I often use a wax seal. Some papers accept the wax better than others. This paper accepts is very well...you wax will not peel away. This is one of the best writing tablets available for the letter writer with demanding expectations.Highly recommended!

Works well with my Iroshizuku ink - no feathering. But it has a bit of a rough feel as you write, and it doesn't bring out the shading in the ink the way I had hoped it would.

good paper
Smaller than I expected though, there was no size breakdown prior to ordering it. Very prompt delivery which was great. Works well with fountain pen ink!

others like it well enough but it just doesn't do it ...
My go to stationery for decades has been Crane's 100% cotton (no trees...) monarch size, but seems monarch is no longer there so I'm on the hunt for a replacement. This isn't it, just doesn't do it for me and causes random skips in fountain pen ink getting to paper (?). Obviously, others like it well enough but it just doesn't do it for me. I'm going to try CR Gibson and keep searching for 100% cotton alternatives.

look elsewhere for this paper
This is beautiful paper. However, this was advertised as 100 sheets of paper and 50 envelopes when I bought these. All I got was a small pad of paper (50 sheets) no envelopes. Now it's offered as 50 sheets of paper and 25 envelopes...and I bet you get no envelopes. I wouldn't bother purchasing this paper from here, it's false advertising.

not great for fountain pen
The paper is definitely ok for the price and after all it is only 25% cotton. Looks good, but not very pleasant to write with a fountain pen, or not as pleasant in touch as the velin pur cotton or counterparts with similar laid pattern. Should be ok for the printer.
