Armored Saint: John Bush (vocals); Jeff Duncan (guitar, vocals); Phil Sandoval (guitar); Joey Vera (bass, vocals); Gonzo (drums). Additional personnel: Aaron Plunkett (percussion). Personnel: John Bush (vocals, background vocals); Jeff Duncan (guitar, background vocals); Alan Barlam, Dave Prichard, Phil Sandoval (guitar); Joey Vera (bass guitar, background vocals); Gonzo (drums, percussion); Gonzo Sandoval (percussion). Audio Mixers: Dave Jerden; Annette Cisneros. Audio Remasterer: Brad Vance. Recording information: Eldorado Studio, Hollywood, CA. Photographers: William Hames; John Scarpati. Arranger: Armored Saint. Recorded soon after the tragic and untimely death of guitarist Dave Prichard from leukemia, Symbol of Salvation is arguably Armored Saint's finest hour. In what is certainly their best-produced and most diverse album, the band pays tribute to their fallen friend with every performance. And since many of these tracks were co-written by Prichard in his last months on earth, the results are often extremely personal and dramatic -- never more so than on the hard-driving "Burning Question," the beautiful "Another Day," and the epic "Tainted Past," which actually features a solo from Prichard. Other highlights, such as "Reign of Fire" and "Dropping Like Flies," find the band thrashing harder than ever, while "Last Train Home" and "Truth Always Hurts" (written by new guitarist Jeff Duncan and returning founding member Phil Sandoval) see them at their most commercial. The chaotic drumming of "Tribal Dance" is another wonderful surprise, and the venemous "Hanging Judge" is simply an awesome all-around metal song. While all Armored Saint albums (save for the very average Raising Fear) have their particular strengths, Symbol of Salvation is probably the best place to start discovering the band. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

WOW
this is my first armored saint purchase ... . After listening to this cd i can't wait to invest in more armored saint cd's these guys rock. I can't stop listening to this cd. The whole cd rocks "symbol of salvation", "tribal dance", and "reign of fire" are my favorite songs on the cd, the louder u listen to this cd the better... I was going to pick up a pizza i ordered and was driving through my local grocery store with this in my cd player with "symbol of salvation" playing sorta loud an as i passed an employee bringing in grocery carts i noticed him in my rear view mirror he stopped for a sec and started air guitaring to the song i slowed down and laughed a bit and thought to myself he obviously knows great music when he hears it too. simply put this is a great cd you would be doing a great injustice to your cd collection if you are a fan of this music and you don't buy so do yourself a favor and go get it the for love of god.

Armored Saint..should've been one of the big 4
Album is great. This one and Revelations could go up against some of the best thrash metal albums out there. The only thing that these albums were released in the ninetys when the genre was losing popularity. John Bush vocals are great and he did a stint with Anthrax and made some good songs with them. If you like metal like Megadeth and Iron Maiden were the lyrics have meaning then check out Armored Saint. You will be glad you did. Everything was shipped as described I went the little pricier way through Amazon then one of the other companys because I wanted to make sure I got the two disc collector addition. As I did.

Great but miss the Red Rocker’s Guitar
This is their 2nd album and unfortunately Dave Prichard (the Red Rocker) wasn’t on this album and he had passed away...His virtuoso work in the first album was amazing and very distinctive sound.Still a great album and Bush’s voice is always fun to listen to...100% my kind of heavy metal

Very solid disc!
Symbol is one of my favorite cds by Armored Saint, the band where hitting on all cylinders, this disc had a more melodic sound to them. This is must for metal fans.

Amorred Saint
I only discovered Armored Saint by another reviewers comments and like alot of my purchases the reviewer was spot on. This Cd rocks from start to finish and I would highly recommend this cd to everyone into the voice of John Bush who I think should have stuck with this band as they are I think a level above Athrax and would have been huge.

the best they have done in my eyes
armored saint is one of the true old school bands from California they had 4 or5 albums before this and last hey ace in the hole lead guitarist just before releasing saints will conquer live cd not every song on every album was a 10/classic song but with this cd they came close no track you constantly skip over. this cd is solid and heavy after growing up and having opened for so many greats they had to be hard working and learn a lot from those bands(metallica, slayer, wasp, anthrax, megadeth, lazz rockit, testament, dark angel, exodus and many more they reallystuck to their guns with keeping their style and progressing because they were local heroes and international openers but never really getting their dues but paying their dues 10 X over with this cd theey were getting the attention they needed and deserves long ago. these wouldn't last thou because anthrax would do what metallica couldn't in 82 anthrax hired Jon Bush away from A Saint ending the raise to the top

Symbol of perfection
What a great album it is, blend of heavy, power and hard rock, i usually like it heavier but can't dislike this album.Great riffs, catchy melodies, songs are memorable will stuck in your head and force you to sing.Of course, Bush's voice is outstanding just makes it more enjoyable.I would say the album is a bit long, with one or two songs less it could be even better, although you have no track to remove from it because almost every song is near perfection, even the ballad 'Another Day'.Top tracks: 'Reign of Fire', 'Burning Question', 'Hanging Judge', 'Spineless' and 'Dropping Like Flies'.13 tracks in 57 minutes can be fatigue but the quality of this album very compensate and worth it.I wish the artwork was better than that, any fan of heavy, power and hard rock should own it.
