Not very hot
While this turned on and became hot it didn't get as hot as other hot hair appliance tools I have. It didn't give the smooth look for my curls or straightening that I thought. I was hoping because it was chrome and smooth barrelled that it would work as good as my old Conair 1 1/2" chrome barrel curling iron. I guess the low price got me what I paid for.
