Delighted!
I'm delighted by the quality of these bowls.PROS:-> SUPER EASY to dust. The finish on them allows me to just use a dry rag. ((Also have just used a paper towel- still awesome!))-> Aesthetically pleasing enough that I've been known to leave these out to accent a room between games. Those lids just help them look so tidy, and the wood is perfectly classy.-> Holds all the pieces. ((Mind, I'd be rather concerned if they didn't!))CONS:-> I would not suggest traveling with these. They look lovely, but they are most definitely not created with anything long-distance in mind.

Far from premium, but I got more than I paid for.
For the cost of one bowl, you get two low quality bowls and a full set of acceptable stones. The stones were not dirty. There flecks of white on my black stones, from the manufacturing process, these will not wash off. The feel was something like slate, hard and of a middle weight. The bowls were substantial, a little chunky for wood-turnings, but adequate and the lids fit. The wood finish was of a poor quality, that I would never use because it smells of petroleum. But once they've been unwrapped, and sat in the sun for a few hours, it starts to go awayGreat starter set for someone on a tight budget, they even throw in a plastic game-mat so you don't have to wait for your board to arrive before you start playing. This plastic also smells funny, but I appreciate the gesture.

Melamine, not Yunzi/Glass/Clay, but decent stones!
I bought this set of stones and bowls ("gosu" or "go ke") because I wanted a set of bowls to go with my .The bowls have a darker finish on them than the picture led me to believe, but this is fine. They are not glossy, but have a little bit of shine to them nevertheless. There isn't a coating over the finish, so they are not smooth. You can still feel the grain of the wood. The lids are a little shallow, but still fine for storing captive stones (as long as they are single convex). The one complaint that I would make, is that the finish on one of the lids was still wet (packaged right after finishing?!) and has some dust/debris stuck to it as a result, which will need gentle washing in order to remove without ruining the finish.Beyond the bowls, the reason I'm rating this buy so highly is the stones. After washing the stones, they are not "dirty" or "spotty" as others have complained about. Maybe I just got lucky! After a good wash, these stones have been quite good to play with on both a shin kaya board and the bamboo one (while it lasted in this climate!)Edit: The stones I received were "Melamine" (a plastic-like material) but I originally thought they were "Yunzi" stones. Upon close inspection, they do not glow green when exposed to intense light. I then considered that they may be glass/clay. After seeing one of the stones broken in half, and how it was "shiny" on the inside, I came to the conclusion that they are in fact Melamine. The stones are opaque, matte/dull, and fit both my Chinese and Japanese standard size boards. The other Melamine stones I own are not matte/dull but shiny and seem to weigh less despite being double convex, which is part of why I was initially confused over what the material these stones were made. They came in plastic bags, coated in a fine dust. A few of the stones were missing, but enough were there to play with.I nevertheless recommend this set for beginners, or someone who wants stones for travel or a spare set. The stones may not be Yunzi, but they are decent nevertheless.

Happy beginner
I am very pleased with my first set of wooden bowls and stones. They are obviously hand made; not exactly the same, which for me adds to their beauty and personality. The stones are a beautiful matt finish and have weight as well as the feel of actual stone.THY Trading included a 19x19 plastic game game board which I easily trimmed to 9x9.I give this product 5 stars and thanks toTHY Trading

Nice stones; lovely bowls
Nice stones, but it would have been nice to know their diameters before-hand. Also, the black ones were covered in a fine powder that took time to remove.Bowls are very attractive, with nice grain.Definitely value for the money.

horrible quality
Horrible horrible quality. The two bows are of different size. And the lids are of different shapes (thickness). Huge differences for small items like these. Stay away!!!

Look like Yunzi to me!
You might want to get these while you can. As far as I can tell the other commentator was right in that these seem to be Yunzi stones, not plastic melamine. A few might be missing, but there still seems to be plenty of each.Edit: Okay, you all say they are malmine, fine. But if it is so hard to tell then why go to all the expense of buying actual Yunzi? Regardless these seem to be a good deal.

Ok starter set
Stones were dirty but a quick rinse got most of the dust off. Though there was a shortage, only 179 black stones and a few broken white stones. Bowls are nice quality though lids only very loosely fit them.
