Forever Black Trilogy #1
Ellery Lane lives in New York with her boyfriend Kyle until four years later Kyle decided he needed his space. One night Elle goes out and helps an intoxicated stranger get home not realizing that he is the billionaire Connor Black. Conner wakes up the next morning and finds Elle in his apartment thinking she is one of his dates he brings home. Elle is a strong independent woman and doesn’t get pushed around. Connor is intrigued by Elle and wants to see more of Elle. Connor is a playboy and is not use to the kindness of Ellery. Elle has a secret she cannot divulge. Connor and Elle’s romance grow stronger and they must work out their secrets to make their romance work. I really enjoyed this contemporary romance novel.

Thoroughly Enjoyable
The only reason I did not give 5 stars was the imho, unnecessary number of breakups. The end was rushed. Loved the characters.

Forever Black
Two strong people and their unlikely attraction to each other. Their story is highly emotional and heart stopping. Love is stronger than ever as they struggle through Ellery' s journey. Loved this book and clever dialogue. Connor and Elle were meant for each other! I couldn't stop reading once I started.

Tons of Sex
These are both very very broken people due to prior experiences. As a result, they struggle in this relationship repeatedly as they work through their relationship issues. It is compounded by her 2nd round of cancer. There is LOTS and lots and lots of very detailed sex scenes, which got repetitive. I was most bothered by the author’s lack of information on the impact of cancer treatments on reproductivity. I have experienced this with family members and it is important not to give people false hopes.

Couldn't put it down!
EMOTIONAL! HEARTBREAKING! BEAUTIFUL! So many ways to describe Forever Black by Sandi Lynn. All together, it was just an amazing 5 star read for me. Sandi Lynn did a wonderful job with her debut novel. I was hooked from the very first page and just couldn't put it down. I was completely intrigued by both Elle and Connor and needed to know everything about them.“A happiness grew inside me I never thought could exist. I was too happy and it scared me; it scared me to death because all I kept thinking was nothing lasts forever.”Ellery Lane moved to New York with her boyfriend, Kyle. After 4 years of being together, Kyle decides that he “needs space” and leaves Elle all alone. Lonliness is something that Elle is very familiar with since her mother passed away when she was six and her alcoholic father passed away when she was 18. With the help of her best friend, Peyton, Elle decides to move forward with her life. During a night out, Elle encounters a belligerently drunk Connor Black. In her naturally Good Samaritan way, Elle helps Connor get back to his apartment. Once the morning comes, Connor doesn't remember a thing from the night before and shows his true colors when he assumes that Elle is just another whore that he has brought home.“What's to tell, I'm a 30 year old CEO, I have more money than I will ever need; I do not do relationships; I usually get everything I want, and I do whatever I want.”Elle is like no woman that Connor has ever met. She is a very strong independent woman that doesn't fall at his feet drooling. Connor is completely intrigued by her and can't stay away. The problem is that they both have a past that has shaped them into the people that they are today. Discovering each other's past proves to be painful. Furthermore, Elle has a secret that could change everything for them. Therefore, their struggle comes in trying to deal with one another's past and seeing if they can face the future together.“I was saved for a reason, and I think it was to save you. You have a beautiful heart and soul, and you don't deserve to never love someone.”I quickly fell in love with both Elle and Connor. Elle is such a sweet, giving, strong but stubborn woman. Her life has brought nothing but sorrow. Yet, she still carries on with the intent of enjoying each day. Unfortunately, her secret makes it increasing harder for to fulfill her intent. The thing that I love about her the most is that she is not afraid to speak her mind but at the same time would do anything for anyone. Connor is a typical cold, bossy millionaire that is used to getting what he wants. His sensitive side shines through quickly in his need to protect and take care of Elle. It is clear that Elle changes his whole world.“I could never understand my purpose in this world. I have had nothing but pain and loss my whole life. But now I know why God saved me the first time. It was so I could find you.”There is so much to Elle and Connor's emotional journey but I don't want to ruin any part of it. I truly enjoyed everything about Forever Black, especially the wonderful ending. I would definitely recommend this one and I absolutely look forward to even more from Sandi Lynn in the future.

Irresistible Poison...
Connor Black is a 30 year old CEO multimillionaire. He's arrogant, bossy, crudely obnoxious and rude. He's also devilishly handsome and hawt! Connor Black get's everything he wants and he does what ever he wants. Mr Black is spoiled. He has strong business sense, but he has a weak character when it comes to relationships. He's basically emotionless with women. He meets his match when he meets Ellery Lane.Ellery Lane (23) is a free spirit. She grasps life by the horns and tries to live life to the fullest every day. She's strong willed and kind hearted. She's generous to a fault, giving of herself always, and forgives easily. She's loving and very stubborn. She's alone in the world and very independent. She's also very lonely and she's harboring a deep, life changing secret.I really liked this story, even with it's serious overtones and deep tacit messages. I loved Ellery's character...she was strong and independent. I loved how she totally threw Connor off his game. She absolutely stumped him in every way. I liked Connor but didn't like how weak he could be whenever women flirted with him in front of Ellery. It's like he didn't know how to handle the situation and would freeze up and panic! This multi-millionaire CEO would panic!!?! I don't think so! Ellery would have to handle the situation and get the women off of him. Cracked me up how weak this strong man actually was. I didn't like the description of his hands being so soft. I mean, I know he's a business man and there's not much opportunity to have a few callouses on one's hands...but yeesh! Who wants a man with soft hands??!? HAH! Didn't need to hear that. (Go lift weights Connor!)I must've gotten a good e-copy of this story because there were few graphical errors. I mean, WHO CARES if there a some spelling errors? This Author is probably publishing this book herself and trying to get her career started...unable to afford editing software. Give a beginner a break!I thought this story was a lot of fun to read. It didn't consume me like some stories do, but it captivated my attention. It didn't have any holes or loose threads and I loved how it was told from Ellery's POV (with a one or two pages in the middle coming from Connor). I thought the plot was fairly well developed with a solid strength of vision. A good solid effort. I'm off to read book #2 Forever You

Unconditional Love
"Forever Black" Forever Trilogy book 1 by Sandi Lynn**Spoiler Alert**Even though Ellery lost so much during her 23 years of life, she lives her life to the fullest. She loves deeply, and she will never apologise for being the woman she is. If her heartbreak ever taught her anything, it was to live life every day as though it were her last. She has a secret but one that she won't allow to rule her life.Connor is pleasantly surprised by seeing the beautiful woman in his apartment and can't for the life of him remember the night before and why she would still be there. His women know the rules, so why is she disobeying him? Little does he know that her reasons for being there, has nothing to do with his "no sleepover" rule but something of pure selflessness. She intrigues him. Her spunk and honesty are refreshing.Ellery sees him for the man he is and can't help fall in love, but once he knows her secret, it will all be over. He already said they could never be more, so why worry? But deep down, she knows....Will they find their HEA, or will her secret destroy everything before it even begins? This story has so much angst, heartbreak, sadness, forgiveness, unconditional love, and so much more. It's so sad there wasn't a duel POV. I would have loved to have read Connor's thoughts. He was dealing with so much pain of his own. Can't wait to read what comes next!5 ❤️ 's

Unrealistic
There really is very little about this book that is realistic. I appreciate books are meant to be an escapism from real life but this one isn't an escapism is far from it.Ellery and Connor despite being adults behave like children back and forth between petty little arguments. Neither character is very relatable.Add in that Ellery has cancer - the type is never specified - but doesn't immediately seek treatment, then she decides to but even that is unrealistic, then after 1 round decides nah its not for me let's bugger off to California to join a medicine trial.... hmm.Such a shame really because the storyline albeit weak does work and it could be an enjoyable read. With a bit of an overhaul this would be a great read and one I feel could be read again and again. But for me currently there is nothing about this book that is relatable or realistic and certainly not worth paying for the 2nd book for.

AWFUL!!!
Not sure why I kept reading as she really annoyed me with her childish ways. He really annoyed me with his controlling. The fact he was totally against relationships but after one night of sex he was "all in". I have no interest in reading any of the other books in this series and have deleted this one from my Kindle.

good storyline
I enjoyed Elle and Connor's story, they overcame a lot of lows, had some great highs, there were some funny moments but on the whole it was fairly sombre. We first meet Elle after her long term term boyfriend Kyle left her, we didn't know why at the time, but it was the best thing that happened. I thought how odd it was at the time but he had got in touch with Peyton, who I loved to bits, to keep an eye on Elle.Peyton was a breath of fresh air, crazy chick. but had a huge heart of gold. She really loved Elle, and would do anything to help her friend.Elle had had a really hard 23 years, loosing her mom aged 6, then her dad aged 18! and needed some luck in her life, but she was always there to help people out, she was a good samaratian had a beautiful heart. So when she meets Connor in the club, being thrown out drunk, she helped him back to his apartment, got him inside and put him to bed. He meets her in the morning after giving her the rules speak, I giggled at this, she came back with a great answer she was really ballsy. She didn't take any of his CEO demanding nonsense.Elle gets some bad news and has to go back to her home town, she goes to a family funeral which brings back memories, when she's had enough of hearing stories she stands up for herself, with Connor for support they get away from thge funeral, only for Kyle to show up and throw their lives in turmoil. The secrets start to unravel, Connor finds out Elle has been harbouring a big secret, she is sick really sick. He runs leaving her to get herself home. They spend time apart, but make their way back to each other, he has lived with a secret of his own, and won't let anyone in, has meaningless sex with women, not wanting a relationship until he meets Elle. She runs again, but this time she goes out of state, to get treatment, he finds her again and goes with her whilst she has treatment, they really do love each other and begin to work on their future. A really tough storyline, but written with compasdion , alright there might be some typo's but that didn't detract from the heartfelt storyline.

Great story line ideas but writing style odd
The story line and characters were really appealing but the writing felt very two-dimensional and superficial. It lacked any emotional depth (and I agree the proof reading and editing was lacking)Connor and Ellery and their individual personal complexities could have made for a really gripping read that lasted well over three books but it just didn't happen. Aspects of their characters were mentioned but not explored in any great depth. Events were often written as 'they went there, did that and went home' without any exploration of impacts on each other, feelings, ramifications etc. The ending was positively rushed - the passage of months within a few pages? Even other side characters flitted in and out with little character development. The fact that book 2 is a rehash of the same story from Connor's perspective would have been disappointing if it hadn't actually been a better read than book 1, at least initially, giving more exploration of feelings and thoughts, but unfortunately even that tailed off by half way through.A good idea story and likeable characters for sure but the author's writing style for a storyline of this sort intended as a trilogy needs a heck of a lot of development if readers aren't to feel that they've eaten a fresh-air sandwich at the end; empty and still hungry.
