FuhlSpeed KPB-27 Popcorn Ball Microwavable Popcorn Maker/Mixer
Saw this on Funderdome and was intrigued for an alternate use. I make my own trail mix with various nuts, seeds and raisins with different seasonings and thought this might be an alternative to baking on a cookie sheet.Warming nuts & seeds with some oil and seasonings in microwave took some trial. Found that by heating in 1 minute intervals and rotating between heatings (usually 3 times) worked best.BUT BE CAREFUL!!. Used the finger spin points on the side of the Ball the first time proved that my mix ingredients were too heavy for the lid latch and even the center break down seam. Things did not go well the first time I went to mix/roll. After realizing I needed to grip the Ball differently to keep the lid and the center seam secure during the mixing things were much better.I now use this about twice a week to create my trail mixes. It is a little on the small side but being able to make a batch in less than 10 minutes in the microwave instead of using the oven more than makes up for the smaller batch size.I honestly have never used the Ball for popcorn but rumor has it this works pretty well. Just be willing to experiment.

Only Good For Pre-Popped Popcorn
On paper, this is a very cool gadget, a popcorn ball which allows you to pop and then evenly distribute toppings to all the popcorn. Of the two jobs it's designed to do, The Popcorn Ball does best with distributing toppings, especially for pre-popped popcorn. Place popped corn in The Popcorn Ball and a topping and then spin. It's fun to toss around this popcorn ball and since it seals with a silicone gasket, the toppings don't leak and the lid stays well shut when mixing. As a microwave popper, The Popcorn Ball really falls short. First off, there are NO instructions in or on the box, so you have to go searching to find just how much popcorn to put into The Popcorn Ball. I had to do a ton of searching online to find it which is: " 1/2 cup or less of dry popping corn for 2 to 2 and a half minutes on high. Do not use oils or butter during the microwaving." We followed this exactly and got a mixture of unpopped kernels and burnt corn. Since this is billed as a Microwavable Popcorn popper, this poor showing was enough to knock two stars off the rating. The lack of recipes (either on the box, in an instruction booklet or online) really hampers this product. The brand has a Facebook page and kickstarter page which show off what you can do with the popcorn ball, but no instructions or recipes on how! It's frustrating to be shown the possibilities of a product and then not given the needed info to make that happen. The Popcorn Ball is a fun little gadget, and if you realize that you need to use something else to pop your popcorn, you'll enjoy it a lot more. I hope the company will spend the time and resources to include an instructions and recipe booklet along with this popcorn ball, it's a real omission.Note, this is the same Popcorn Ball that was done as a Kickstarter campaign, I'm not sure why it's listed so strange here at amazon and not just listed as "The Popcorn Ball"

Birthday Gift
Bought for my 7 year-old granddaughter for her birthday. It was to big to fit in the mircowave so can't say how well it pop the popcorn. She use it for her other snacks as well as her already pop popcorn. She loves it.

Fun, but not great!
It is nice but it gets very hot and you cannot spin in your hands to mix butter, salt etc. I do like that it comes apartand the lid stays closed pretty well. Just do not think it was worth the money. Should be less plastic.....

Neat, but too small.
This is pretty good, but is far too small. In order to really have enough space for it to move around you can only use about half as much popcorn as a single adult typically wants (except for a small snack). Also, with the narrow opening the popcorn can't go straight into it from the popper or lots of it will miss. Still, nice idea, good for small amounts.

too big for my small microwave.
The directions are located in the "features and details" section at the bottom. It says user manual PDF. Product is great, but measure your microwave first. I have a very small microwave and it does not fit. My fault, as seller gives measurements indescription. I now have a reason to buy a bigger microwave! I saw seller on Funderdome on TV with Steve Harvey. Great invention, I used it at my neighbors and it worked perfectly.

Disappointed
I had high hopes for this product, but was so disappointed. I tried popping popcorn in it without any directions, of course because none came with it. And when I went to spin it to get my butter all over my popcorn, the lids flies open and popcorn goes everywhere. The lids was closed as far as it would go, but I realized after that, it does not close completely shut. Wish I would have waited to read reviews.
