Working well
It is really windy today and I will pull it down inside the other sock once the wind lets up a bit. This is doing exactly what I bought it for--keeping the birds off the dock. It is a nice long length and really blows in the wind. I have it tucked it inside a stronger rainbow colored windsock which was blowing but not effective in keeping the birds away. Then I tried adding those spiral things but the birds still loved hanging out on the dock. Ugh! This iridescent windsock DOES keep the birds away! I tucked it inside the pretty windsock. This one is longer so it hangs out below and looks awesome with the other windsock. I just ordered another one just in case something happens during the windy winter months to this one.Truly, my goal was to keep the cute little birds from having their meetings on my dock because of what they left behind. If that is your goal, give this sock a try but you might want another one to add to it because it is not very substantial by itself. I hope this helps you decide what is best for you and your needs/desires.

Sturdy in strong winds.
These are very pretty and light enough to move in the slightest breeze but strong enough to not tear apart. I am hoping to use these to repel birds from striking my windows.

Very visually pleasing
Really catches the light. Enjoyable to watch

Warning: SO sparkly in the sun and wind it's basically psychedelic
If someone has risk of seizures, you probably shouldn't get this. Just received this (silver version), and while it certainly is very colorful in the sunshine and sparkly, as advertised, just be aware that some individuals may find it overwhelming blowing in a breeze, too.

SUCCESS against Dirty Bird Seagulls
Time will tell if it will hold up. I was taken back at the fishing line and small swivel and clip that was used and how it's attached to the hoop. If it's 2 pound test line, it would be surprised.I don't see how the thin line is going to last and not get "cut" from the plastic it's looped through when the wind gets strong. And the Clip and swivel is mickey mouse. Something I would use on an Ultra Light fishing rod.So we'll see how well it lasts. Living on a lake that gets a lot of wind, it shouldn't take long to see if it makes the grade.I'm bought this to try and dissuade a pesky seagull from sitting on the boat's canopy, pooping and depositing it's dead fish to munch on.Somehow, I don't think this is going to last a month without falling apart.... thus the 3 stars.I'll come back and post in a couple months..................UPDATE..........AUGUST 17, 2014Well, my windsock remained intact through steady 20mph winds & gusts as high as 31mph and a heavy downpours. So I increased my rating it to 5 stars from my original score of 3. I was so impressed I ordered another one to hang on the opposite side of the pontoon. When I got it, I noticed the box was it was in, was HALF as tall as the original box I got last week. The exterior design, graphics, color, and stated length of windsock were identical. So I take it out and first thing I notice was the fishing line was a little thicker ............and.........it's MISSING THE SWIVEL AND CLIP ON THE END LOOP. There was NO POSSIBLE WAY to attach it to ANYTHING. This REALLY dinked me off since I paid extra for overnight shipping. Had I not burned the shipping box, I would have sent it back as being defective. Luckily we fish, so I attached a small split ring to the end loop then attached a heavy duty swivel with clip onto that.Since hanging these, the Seagulls have not been back. Each windsock is attached to a fiberglass pole( see Amazon's "In the Breeze 10-Foot 3-Section Heavy Duty Pole") that has a 360 degree swivel top and mounted the poles to each side of the boat. No matter which way the wind blows, one of them is waving over the boat top keeping those dirty bird seagulls at bay.2nd UPDATE........ August 26, 2014I ORDERED 2 additional units to have for next year. BOTH ARRIVED WITHOUT THE SWIVEL ON THE END FOR HANGING AND TWISTING. As with my last order, these 2 came in the smaller box. This time they're both going back for a refund. I'm not paying $12.00 each for defective Merchandise. So out of the 4 units I ordered, the only one that came with the swivel for hang and twisting, was my first order that arrived in the taller box.

Very Cheaply Made
I received this windsock on April 16th and it's already falling apart. Very cheaply made. I've had other holographic windsocks in the past and they lasted for a long time. Bad weather was not a factor and this one is already losing its streamers. And the line they use to attach to the clip is the thinnest possible. It was pretty while it lasted. I don't recommend you waste your money. I already have to buy another one. (April 25th)

No Birds Deterred Here
I got three of these for the picture windows we recently had installed on the back of our house. Due to year-round allergies, we never open our windows, so I wanted a clean look out to the back yard where we have multiple bird and squirrel feeders set up. Never did I think that NOT having screens would start the tragedy of multiple bird strikes most days.I got these hoping that the wiggles and sparkles would prevent them from flying in the direction of our windows, but I've sat there and watched them crash into the window within an inch of where the strands are twinkling in the sunlight. One day, a hawk swooped by and grabbed a young squirrel sitting on the fence. He then flew directly into the window, creating a crash that sounded like it should have broken the glass! He dropped the squirrel on impact and the squirrel landed in one of the chairs on the patio. He took off running within seconds, but the hawk was badly dazed and didn't move for several minutes. Once he got stood up, he still didn't fly away for another 20 minutes. To sum it up, these make for interesting scenes when the breeze blows the strands up then they float back down- kind of like watching a giant jellyfish underwater. When the sunlight hits, they sparkle like crazy. After several months, both of those things are still true and they get 5 stars for looks. But they are absolutely worthless as warnings or deterrents for the birds who continue to fly directly at them, so they get zero stars for efficacy, resulting in 2.5 stars overall.

Worth the wait
It took a long time to get here but it is spectacular. The Mylar tails are iridescent and pick up all shades of colour in the breeze. It sparkles and shimmers in the slightest breeze. Love it with the vibrant blue/purple colour theme of the front yard.

So good
Could stare at this, I do stare at this glistening in the sunshine very often. Normally buy the silver one but didn’t have it. This one picks up the background colour. It’s incredible the sky is pink and the greenery is a very pale green colour as it moves so do the colours, completely pink if the breeze picks up. Or 75/25, etc it twinkles and sparkles too. Only lasts about one year. As they are expensive I bought in over winter but it still pretty much feel apart this summer hence this new one.

They were delivered very quick;ly.
They look very pretty blowing in the breeze. They also help keep mosquitoes off the deck.

Very nice looking and flies well in a breeze
Very nice looking and flies well in a breeze. I cut several of the streamers off of it and made a bicycle flag out of them... worked a charm.
