Excellent product - but requires patience/planning to install w/door mount
This product is excellent if you are tired of squatting under cabinets to dig out pots/pans with all the racket. Although it doesn't look like much you will certainly feel the ease of getting pans and lids when using it. The benefits are fully utilized when mounting the cabinet door using the optional door mount kit RS5WB.DMKIT however I encountered difficulty in getting a good install with the door mount when using the given installation instructions. I posted my work around below to help anyone reading this as I also installed the RS5WB2.2122.CR double chrome pullout basket which uses the same frame and rails in less than half to time using those steps. There are limitations and considerations to plan for in adavance: - This product will not work with pans larger than 12" such as woks or those giant Circulon grill pans. You may only be able to fit 1 or 2 large 12" pans on the ends where the upper shelf bottom is higher. - This product does not work well with square or oddly shaped pot/pans. - Large pans that have a long handle on one end and a short handle on the other may not fit. The problem occurs in that the second handle may hit the back of the cabinet when closed which causes the pan to shift and the large handle to point up and get tangled on the upper shelf. - All existing cabinet shelves must be removed, so if your cabinet has a shelf and spans across two cabinet doors be prepared for how you are going to store items from the neighboring cabinet with the shelf gone. In my case I put RS5WB2.2122.CR double chrome pullout baskets into the neighboring cabinet. - Dome shaped 12" lids may be a challenge, the back prongs of the upper shelf are angled lower that the front to accomodate larger lids but you may only be a able to fit 1 or 2. Worst case the shelf prongs can be bent slightly but only once or damage can occur. The prongs are not made to be bent repeatedly. - You will be giving up storage space in exchange for the convience. If you have tons of stuff crammed into the cabinet be prepared to relocate the excess. You want to put the pots/pan you use most often on this shelf. - Be wary that children do not hang on the shelves when extended. The frame is fairly strong but it will not hold their added weight. - Take note any possible obstructions such a dishwasher door on the opposite side. The shelves extend a good 2 feet out and the bottom shelf must be fully extended to get large pans in and out from the back row. - Expect possible 2-3 hours to install with door mount. Recommend you carefully drill small holes for any screws going into the cabinets to avoid possible splitting of the wood. - Each shelf can be installed at one of 2 different heights but in almost all cases you'll want the bottom shelf as low as possible and top shelf as high as possible to fit 12" pans. Challenge with the door mount: The installation instructions state to first assemble the frame by loosely attaching the shelf rails to the two load bearing U brackets then measure and attach the frame in the cabinet. The problems with this is that without the shelves in the rails and the screws loose it is possible to mount the U brackets to the cabinet floor slightly twisted. The result of which is that the shelves don't "lock in" correctly when closed and the cabinet door won't mesh up with the cabinet with a scenario where either the left or right side has a large gap. It tooks more than a hour of fiddling to fix this and I had to loosed all the rails and relocate the rear U bracket and upper rail bracket screws to correct the problem. Per what I encountered I deviated from the install steps as follows when installing the RS5WB2.2122.CR (same frame/rails) afterwards and saved alot of trouble. 1. When assembling the the frame don't forget to leave the rail screws slightly loose per the instructions. Leave the rear bracket off until it is ready to be attached as it will just fall off or get in the way. 2. Perform the steps up to attaching the one screw holding the upper rail to the cabinet as per the instructions. Measure carefully! 3. Carefully measure, position, and screw in the front U backet. DO NOT screw in rear U bracket yet. It is critical that the front U backet is perfectly vertical and both left/right sides are the exact 1 13/16" from the cabinet edge as per the instructions AND that the lower rail perfectly straight by making sure it the same distance from the cabinet wall on both the front and back ends. This will ensure the front of the frame does not end up slightly rotated. 4. Carefully insert the lower shelf into the frame, note that the assembly can tip since the rear screws aren't in. Verify that the shelf closes in snugly and evenly on both left/right sides. Since the rail screws are slightly loose doing this will align the rails stright with the U brackets. Make sure the rear U bracket is perfectly vertical. 5. Pull out the shelf slightly, tighten the rear rail screws, carefully remove the shelf and tighten the front rail screws. 6. Perform the installation of the door mount per the instructions to be sure be that the shelf closes evenly and the left/right sides of the cabinet door mesh evenly. (Don't forget to remove the double sided tape after marking the screws for the cabinet face or you won't be able to adjust it...this step is missing from the door mount instructions). A level is needed to ensure the cabinet face is even. Again remember that with the rear U bracket of the frame is not screwed in the entire assembly can tip when the shelf is far enough out. 7. Take the door mount off and with the lower shelf in (or all the way if possible) and screw in the rear U bracket. A cordless screw drill helps with this alot as it is hard to reach. Make sure the U bracket is not at an angle and the rails are staight with the front of the cabinet. 8. Close the lower shelf and now tighten the upper rair screws and finish the install of the rear bracket per the instructions (again make sure you don't bend the frame), then finally put the cabinet door mount back on. You may have to do multiple adjustments with 4 screws holding the door mount brackets to get the cabinet door just right.

No more messy cabinets!
This was by far one of the best investments made for my kitchen. These look like they are built ins. They are so easy to install, the instructions are clear and concise. I actually installed these without my husband! The materials used for construction of this rack is very durable. It holds many pots and pans and stays sturdy. If you cook a lot and cant stand a messy cabinet, this is for you!

Wow What An Organizer!
Over the past several months, I have purchased quite a few Rev-A-Shelf products to get my cabinets organized. They have all been quality products. They are sturdy, hold as much or as little as you want to put on them. I've loaded a few (including this one) with a LOT of stuff and they still slide out easily. Several of the rev-a-shelf units I bought had one or two pull out wire racks that I used to place things on laying flat. This one was different. The bottom has adjustable slots to hold pots and pans laying on their side. The top part is perfect for all the lids. I was able to load 2 large pasta pots, 2 medium size pots, 2 small pots, 2 large frying pans and 2 small frying pans - basically my entire set. The lids all fit neatly on the top slide out plus I have a few extra slots available for extra lids. The smallest sauce pan size pots are a little small for the unit but we managed to arrange them so they do not fall out. Everything else fits perfectly. Our recommendation is to put some of your bigger lids in the top shelf BEFORE you install the unit and see how high up you should put the shelf. The higher the better because that allows the bottom shelf to hold bigger pots or longer handled frying pans without getting in the way of the top slide out. We didn't do that and had to take the top shelf out and move it up a notch. It wasn't a big deal but it would have saved us time if we had done that first. We did not get the door attachment for this one because we had double doors and it seems like the door might be in the way a little for getting the middle pots and pans out of the bottom. We have purchased rev-a-shelf slide outs with the door attachments for 2 of our end cabinets and LOVE that feature. My entire cabinet is now usable. I can just slide out the shelves and reach what I want easily without sitting on the floor, pulling everything out, unstacking pots, etc. I used the pictures posted on the web to help me set up the dividers and determine the best way to load the unit. I would highly recommend this and other rev-a-shelf products to anyone looking to organize and make use of the full cabinet space.

Some flaws, but could earn a place in your kitchen if you don't have too many pans to store
I got the Rev-A-Shelf - 5WB2-1222-CR - 12 in. W x 22 in. D Base Cabinet Pull-Out Chrome 2-Tier Wire Basket and thought they were pretty great, extremely sturdy. So I got this pot organizer for an adjacent cabinet expecting similar quality. The lid storage is quite decent. I was happy to find that it fit my old style tall domed Farberware lids easily — it seems like a lot of pot lid racks expect a flatter shape. It also stores them at an angle where they use very little vertical space. (Though I would sacrifice vertical space to fit 1-2 more lids, oh well.) As for the pot organizer, it works ok, but seems like a step down. In terms of construction, it's flimsier. The wire gauge is narrower than on the wire basket pullout, and there is a lot of open space in the "grid" that supports the pans, even in the center area between the two rows for the pan bodies where there's no reason to leave empty space. Even though the drawer glides are rated to support a lot of weight (100 lbs or more) the drawer itself has more flex and doesn't feel that sturdy. While it might actually be able to support a couple cast iron skillets, I can see why other reviewers have suggested they wouldn't do it. Well, and because the vertical dividers aren't designed to supported that much weight. Also, not really Rev-a-Shelf's fault, I was hoping for too much. This style of non-nested storage was just too inefficient for me given the number of pots and pans I wanted to keep close to hand. You can basically fit 4 saucepans into an entire lower cabinet space (12" unit). Whereas you can *easily* fit 6 or 8 nested saucepans in less space by storing them nested and sitting flat. I tried nesting and storing sideways in the organizer but it seemed like the worst of all worlds at least with my pans. Ultimately, I ended up not storing any pots/pans in the sideways method recommended. I am using the back half of the pot organizer as a flat surface to store a stack of stock/soup pots, and have some of the dividers set up in front to store small flat items like prep bowl lids and collapsible colanders. My saucepans are nested in one of the wire baskets in my other pullout. So if you just want neat and easy access to a small set of pots and pans that aren't too heavy, this could be really great. But at least on this 12" unit, if you have more then 4-5 pans that you need to find a convenient home for, you'll probably be disappointed.

Remarkable product!
We've all had those pot and pan organizers that can't bear the weight of your pots and pans or they do little to no organizing. But this thing is an absolute beast! Several anchoring points, holds all your pots and pans with ease! Easy to assemble, operates smoother than silk. Easy to install, easy to adjust. Cons: Price! Holy heck is this thing pricy but if you can comfortably afford it, it is the ONLY pot and pan organizer you'll ever need! Take note, this thing is BIG. Measure, measure, measure! Its easy to adjust, but I wouldnt say there is enough areas to place the single organizers. My only other con is i have my pans on the lower part of this and someone if them have longer handles which led to the handles not sitting in the rack comfortably but occasionally banging on the cabinet while pulling it out and putting it back in. A few quick adjustments with some other pots and pans and that problem cleared right up.

Beautiful cabinet organizer
We're in the middle of a Kitchen/1st floor renovation. We needed something to organize our pots/pans and still maintain a clean modern look. After much research we decided on the Rev a Shelf 21 inch 2 tier organizer. Our lower cabinet has hinges on both sides and there is no center wall or brace. After reading the instructions, I was a little concerned that the product wouldn't be stable enough without side bracing. I decided to give it a try and see how the lack of a side brace would affect it's stability. After assembly and loading both levels with all our pots, pans, and lids, the product is very stable. No worries at all! Our cabinet's dimensions are: 28" wide (27"opening), 23" deep, and 21" high. The 21" Rev-a-Shelf fits clearing the hinges, leaving about 6 inches on one side to stack oven trays, pizza stones or other tall flat items. The only issue I ran into during the installation was the top shelf has 3 different height levels you can choose from. Based on the height of your cabinet, the size of your lids, and the height of your pots/pans will determine what height you need to install the top shelf. It took me a few tries installing it on the medium and highest level to see which worked best. I finally installed the top shelf on the highest level which allowed me to place our largest skillet on the lower level. I still had to play around and figure out the best arrangement of the pots/pans on the lower level so everything would fit. It all worked out. Overall we're really happy with the product: Very stable platform, the quality of the slide-out function is very smooth and solid, and it looks beautiful in our new kitchen. I would recommend this product and purchase it again.

Minimal improvement
I installed this in an 18" base cabinet. I have high quality 5-ply stainless steel pans including a 12" sauté pan, heavy aluminum non-stick skillets, including a 12", and cast iron pans, including a 12". They all weigh a ton, especially the 12" cast iron. There's also an 11" carbon steel wok, which doesn't weigh a lot, but takes up a lot of space. My old storage scheme was to stack them all in the cabinet, aiming to keep the most used on top of the stack, but even with that I had to bend over uncomfortably and reach in to get the pan and if I needed one towards the bottom, I had to take all the other pans out to get the one I wanted and replace the rest. This unit certainly uses quality parts and fabrication, it's not cheap junk, I have no problems with that. Install was not difficult, but if you don't know enough to drill pilot holes for the screws (the instructions make no mention of this) you're going to have a very unpleasant time screwing the screws into the cabinet, and you'll probably strip the heads to boot. But...with the top rack at its highest location, which barely allows all my big pans to fit on the bottom rack (and still with some rubbing), I can only fit the two saucepan lids I have on the top rack. All of my larger lids are still relegated to leaning vertically in the cabinet in the 5" or so of space along the side of the rack. It has improved access for me to different pans, but it's not what I hoped, and the vertical separators that snap on the rack slide easily so they are worthless for the heavier pans, they just slide horizontally and the pans fall over. It hasn't improved my use of storage space, but has made it marginally easier to get to my cookware. I'm not sure it's worth the price. If you have nothing but smaller, cheap, light pots and pans, this is probably a good solution, but if you have serious cookware, I'd look for something else.
