This was plenty fast and super easy to set up
This did the trick for backing up my dads old hard drive to his new computer. It comes with the SATA adapter and also a cable to power the hard drive. It will work with smaller 2.5 inch hard drives with its USB to SATA cable. You will only need to connect the Power cable if you will be getting information off an internal desktop 3.5 inch SATA hard drive. This was plenty fast and super easy to set up. I set it up and let my Dad get to work organizing his files. Great adapter for the price.

Works well to use an internal Sata DVD writer as external USB device!
It is not very expensive and working as it is supposed to. The USB cable could be a little longer in my opinion, but it is working fine. I bought it to use an internal DVD writer as external device and it works fine! No issues so far...I wasn't sure, if the internal DVD Device would connect and show up correctly, when used as a USB device, but it worked fine and this way I do not need to buy an expensive and bulky external case for it. Perfect solution...

Useless
Does not work. It will power a 3.5" SATA HDD, but neither Windows 10 nor Windows 7 will recognize it. Tried on 2 separate computers, 3 different USB ports on each. None of them would even recognize that a device was connected. Tried it on an older Windows 7 machine. Does not work on that either. Total waste of time and money. The HDD drive works flawlessly when hooked up with normal cables internally. Externally with this will not read/write. Power light is on, and you can hear it spinning. Just will not communicate with a computer.

Saved the Day
When my old computer died I needed to be able to pull data off of the drive. This setup worked perfectly.

Since there were no instructions for powering the devise connections, I was not able to read some of the drives connected to the device.

Works like a charm
Bought a new computer, wanted to use my old hard drive as a backup drive. This did the trick! Totally plug and play, Windows 10 installed the driver automatically and treats the new drive like a USB drive. Like the review says, it works like a charm! My only complaint is that the connector falls off the drive a little too easily. Otherwise, great.

Good Converter, short power cord.
I like its compact size. It works on my 5.25" internal blu-ray recorder, and converted it to a USB external drive. The only compliant I have is the power cord of the transformer is too short (2 ft or so). I have to use it near an outlet. If it is 6-8 ft long, that will be perfect.

Only SATA to USB I'll spend my precious hard earned money on with complete confidence!
First let made assure those who read my review, that I have tried more than half a dozen SATA to USB adapters. Not only are the others junk by comparison, in both quality and performance but the price is second only to FINALLY a ninety degree connector!Less real estate and a safer, less exposed hookup.
