Butterfly Garden: Beautiful Butterflies and Flowers Patterns for Relaxation, Fun, and Stress Relief (Adult Coloring Books - Art Therapy for The Mind)

This has been one of my favorite coloring books by far I love the designs. Each page is complex but easy enough to complete in one sitting. I have nearly completed the book and will buy some of the other books in this series. One thing about this book is the paper is really nice with a smooth texture that takes ink really smoothly with full coverage without requiring going over multiple times. The pages are perforated so they can be removed and used as journal pages or framed. I use markers and unfortunately they bleed through the page so the reverse of the page is dotted up with bleed-through but there isn't much help for that. Also, the designs are all different but have similar design elements from page to page so the lack of variety in the details might not appeal to some, Otherwise I love the book myself and highly recommend it. I used a wide variety of pens - sharpies, color pencils and gel pens.

As an avid crafter I wasn't too impressed when my Mom bought me an adult coloring book for Christmas, however since I have gotten this ebook and colored my first butterfly I am addicted and am sure I will get to her coloring book soon. It was so relaxing and fun doing this project I stayed up all night finishing it and didn't even realize the night was over. Since it was my first time I wanted something halfway simple so I chose the single butterfly. I struggled with the coloring books not knowing what I would do with the pictures after I colored them. With Broderick's designs I don't have that problem, they are all so gorgeous I can see many projects. Cards, scrapbook pages, framed, etc. they truly are a work of art. The download is simple and quick. 102 pages of pure bliss, with a FREE PDF, also easy to download with over 40 butterfly and flower designs, PLUS he also added some bonus pages. So with this book you have 50 pictures to print and color. Not to mention I signed up for his newsletter and got even more FREE coloring pages. They are neat and crisp prints. I love the fact that I have it on my computer and can print as I need/want them and not have the book hanging around my craft room. When my nieces come over we can each choose a design, print and spend quality, creative time together. I received this ebook free of charge for an honest review, and am thrilled to have been chosen to do so. I will be purchasing many more of Broderick's books. I have attached a copy of my butterfly so you can see how amazing the detail of the design is along with some inspiration on how to use it for more than just a coloring page. I wanted it to look lifelike and am ok with the results. I used colored pencils, markers and water to create this butterfly. I haven't decided if I am going to use it on a card or put it in a 3D frame with the saying "Go where your wings take you."

Over half of the pages had 1/4" to 1/3" wide BLANK LINES that crossed directly thru the centers of what should have been very beautiful drawings. No fault of the artist, but extremely poor quality control on part of the printers. It deserved one star because I was issued a refund with no problem and there were a few usable pages.

Ok so I hate to complain about a coloring book, but this one has some issues and it’s been a frustrating morning trying to ‘relax’ with it.Biggest problem is the paper, which is relatively rough and very absorbent. It soaks up all the ink from markers or pens, so colors look flat and dull, but blending and layering literally impossible. Tried using pencils instead, looks like coloring on top of concrete. Might be perfect for pastels though, haven’t tried.Second is the ink, which is NOT smear-proof! You can smudge it with your finger, and it actually bleeds using copic markers or glazing pens. Sharpies and water based markers seem to be ok, but even with a light hand they scratch easily on the rough surface and you end up with wet torn up paper.Third, almost half the book is plain school-lined paper (wth?) which isn’t good for sketching or drawing, so why have it in a coloring book?? I guess you could doodle in the margins. But only with a yellow #2 pencil.Overall the pics are nice, though some ridiculously simple. Not worth the money (which isn’t much) but definitely not worth the frustration! I will avoid buying anything else from this author/publisher.

This book is for everyone, young or old, professional artist or curious novice! There is a picture on one side only, which I like because then the colors don't look like there is a different picture in the background. The paper he a nice texture, not too smooth for those o u who like layers of colors and shading. Page three has several places to look fr tips and he a bonus! The pages are square (8.5"x8.5") with the pictures printed on the left hand side with the right side being blank. It he always been more comfortable to color on the left side than the right for me. Use any coloring method -pencils, markers, crayon, watercolor, gel pens - let your imagination help you relax. A really nice book for those just beginning to color as an adult.

I’m very disappointed in receiving this book today. It looks like it would be an awesome adult coloring book but half of it is lined paper for writing, pages of advertisement, and then the actual pictures some are cut off some are not printed dark enough. They’re faded pictures. The butterflies are beautiful if it wasn’t for all these issues. Big disappointment. I wouldn’t buy it.

Paper thin. Designs on one side. Designs are pretty and detailed. If the paper had been better this would have got 5 stars.

the pictures are from easy to intermediate colouring. The pages are not perforated. the paper quality is quite good. You still need to put cardboard or paper behind each page as colour. Not a big fan of this book

Really nice book. The pictures are only on one side of the page, which gives you the option of using markers if you want to.
