Love these drops, however...
Love how these lube up my eyes in the morning as my eyes burn so much from sleeping. And supposedly these will help reduce cataracts as stated. However there is an opening class action suit on the maker due to making non-FDA approved statements on the medicinal value of these. I was just recently checked and to have beginning cataracts even having used this product for 4 years. So might not actually work for that as stated, however they lube and make my eyes comfortable rapidly and are worth that in the morning use. We all buy and use non-FDA approved products, that doesn't bother me as such.

Good to Supplement for Vision Health
Used it almost daily to maintain the well-being of a senior's visual health. With the strong UV from the sun, it is always good to use this product daily along with other helpful eye supplements. It lessens the dryness from aging eyes - keeping it comfortable. There is also the recommended component of n acetyl carnosine (1% w/v) which my optician recommends. (As a precaution, I also place a couple of drops on my skin first before dispensing it onto my eyes.)

Works. Easy to puncture.
It is easy to puncture if after you twist to open and remove the blue plastic ring, you recap very tight. This will puncture an opening. You might hear a suction of air to let you know it's opened a hole. I bought this for my 70 year old husband who is showing signs of cataracts. I remembered about these drops because I used them about 10 years ago for my own cataracts and know that they worked for me. There are two kinds of cataracts, one is slow onset and one is rapid onset. This is not a long-term solution for the rapid onset, so even though it was indeed working for me I still had to have lens replaced. The could buy you time. My cataracts were rapid onset, could notice it getting worse every morning. But the drops began improving my vision almost immediately. The drops will work a lot better for those with slow onset cataracts.

Using on poodle for diabetic eye cloudiness
First of all, my 12 year old poodle was diagnosed with cataracts by an actual dog eye specialist with a full exam, and diabetes from a veterinarian.I'll tell you what I know these drops to definitely have done: They helped greatly with front of the eye cloudiness, but have not reversed the cataracts in the lens itself (you can still see the cataracts that are located deeper in the eye lens, though the surface cloudiness is gone). The drops did seem to delay cataract formation early on until I stopped using them for only a month. Also, on the drops, he has reduced tear-stain on his face.I gave my dog these Can-C drops 2 to 3x per day, and holding him still for about 30 seconds so he doesn't shake them out , have helped greatly with the cloudiness in the FRONT of the eye (anatomically speaking, the "anterior chamber"). This cloudiness was is located in front of the eye, NOT the part of the eye containing the lens with the cataract. Has not seemed to reduce cataract at all.. Dog went from no visual acuity to being able to now able to get around, though he still has terrible vision. It's the difference between total helplessness to being able to often avoid walking straight into objects (although it still happens), and being able to navigate the room. He's been on Can-C for 5 months with religious use. If I had any advice I'd say the DAY your dog is diagnosed with diabetes, begin the drops immediately, because I do believe, from experience, that these drops did help delay the cataract in his early stages of diabetes. I had him on drops early on in the disease and they halted the cataract worsening, and he was able to navigate stairs again. But during the month he was off them, cataracts worsened quickly and irreversibly. It's important to also control the diabetes with insulin and use a pet-calibrated blood sugar test meter to verify, or else no drops will be able to prevent cataracts & clouding.Unfortunately, once cataracts are known as "mature" (vs early "immature" cataracts), there's no cure besides cataract surgery. Any stories you hear about the Lanosterol eyedrops reversing mature cataracts was from a study where they used both eyedrops and injected sterile lanosterol into the proper chamber of the eye by a physician. In the study, eyedrops alone did nothing for mature cataracts. That being said, this product is not for injection, and a layperson should never inject the eye, as injecting the eye with any medicine can cause infection, increased pressure like glaucoma and cause a myriad of other kinds of massive painful irreversible damage.

The Cap Wasn't Working Properly!
Inside the cap there's a plastic piece designed to pierce the bottle's tip so that you can squeeze out the drops into your eyes. Neither bottle had one that worked. I was forced to use a paperclip to pierce the tip. Not very sterile. When I sent a message to this company about the problem, they never replied. Needless to say, I won't be buying from them again. Giving them four stars was being generous and giving the benefit of the doubt. Ernest, NYC

Hard/impossible to puncture the seal and dispense
Decided to try Can-C after talking with a family member. Seemed like a relatively good value compared to buying it in a local store. Felt the drops were having a positive effect in the short time I was using them, unfortunately I lost the first bottle while on vacation. The drops are VERY hard to dispense from the bottle. So far I have not been able to puncture the second bottle using the sharp point inside the cap so I can use it.Overall, like the drops but they could be easier to puncture the seal and use and (like many similar items) are annoyingly expensive.

Can-C seemes to be working
I have been taking can-c for two monthis, and I believe it is helping my vision. I just ordered two more bottles. It also makes my eyes feel better. Everyone is right on how difficult it is to use. It doesn't come out easily. I found that a bin did not help, so I used a paperclip to make the hole bigger. Then I need to shake the bottle with cap closed befor I use it. I have trouble getting the drops in my eyes. It land on my lid or cheek. After about two tries, I am susccessful. The benefit is worth the effort. Very greatful.
