LINGUA MORTIS ORCHESTRA LMO

Outstanding Album!!!
Every song of this album are amazing!!! A lot of effort, creativity, imagination and outstanding musicians are involved in this project. The mind and the music behind this album is guitar virtuoso Victor Smolski. And also, Peavy in vocals and lyrics, with the company of two female voices and a big sounding orchestra. From my point of view as a listener, this is a perfect album. I love every song of this album. I bought the new Almanac album (produced by Victor Smolski) and they sound similar (production). So, if you like this album, you will enjoy the Almanac album too.

Delivers The Goods!!
I got into Victor Smolski from his ALMANAC thing, and boy, this cat flat out wails on guitar, everything he's involved in is high quality, he's endlessly inventive, is a great composer, and like TOBI from AVANTASIA he brings great players/singers to the fore and allows them to shine, I can heartily vouch for any project he's in, you'll get a certain level of professionalism and craft,so I can say that this kicks serious amounts of tail, it's well worth the dough and delivers the goods!

Powerful Symphonic Metal Opera
When I first listened to this album, I was put off by the vocals. They seemed "over-the-top. But the music was amazing. Power riffs, beautiful melodies, killer solos, bombastic brass hits, and excellent production. Now I've grown accustom to the vocal style and the whole album just plain rocks. Guaranteed you'll be humming these tunes long after the disc stops spinning.

Fantastic symphonic prog
If you like lush, operatic, symphonic, metal-tinged prog this is a no-brainer. And, somehow they manage to sound very different from all of the other bands doing this type of thing (Tristania, Therion, Leaves Eyes, etc.) Absolutely incredible with a good pair of headphones.

Rage Goes Goth!
I did NOT see this coming. After twenty one studio albums and decades of international success, German rockers Rage, led by Peter 'Peavey' Wagner bring their unique sound into the realm of gothic metal. Adding two operatic female vocalists and a symphonic backing, this album is more than the sum of its parts. Yes, Rage has gone symphonic on the previous Lingua Mortis album, but adding the operatic element places this offering among bands like Nightwish and Epica. The songs Cleansed by Fire, Lament, and Eye For an Eye are standouts but there's something to enjoy in every track. Peavey's voice is as strong as always, and the female leads are perfect. These aren't all Rage-style rockers... there's a mellow, graceful element here especially on Lament (which is a MUST hear).Honestly I'm astounded that there aren't more reviews here, seeing as this was released last year. I have to wonder if this resulted from the decision to release under the LMO brand instead of as a Rage album. To that end, this feels like Rage may be attempting to repeat the success of the almost-unknown Savatage when that bank launched the famous Trans-Siberian Orchestra. It may also be why Rage fans don't know this album is out there.... it doesn't show up in a lot of searches (Metal Archives for one), but this has always been a challenge for Rage which always returns alongside the unrelated and defunct Rage Against The Machine. That aside, Rage fans need to give this album a listen. Fans of the original Lingua Mortis (I know you are out there!) will find LMO a huge expansion into the orchestral/gothic metail genre.
