Sony All Region Free Blu Ray A B C and DVD Player, and 6 feet hdmi Cable (Bundle) (Renewed)

Funny story-thought I'd already reviewed this turns out I answered a Blu-ray compatibility question. So here goes. This unit is freaking awesome!!! Just for the record I got the refurbished and cheaper unit with all the bells and whistles (all hail Amazon) because through a third party company I ordered an allegedly region free DVD series set and it wasn't. Utterly miserable I looked for a solution other than simply returning it (I really wanted to see the series THE NET) and lo and behold Amazon lifted me from my despair by advertising the Sony Region-Free Blu-ray/DVD combo. This is not the first time I'd gone with a refurbished something and once again I was not disappointed (again all hail Amazon) I could go into all the technical stuff but I'll just settle for ORDER THIS-YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

First of all, you don't get this unit, you get the newer one. Typical Sony remote, good but not great. Excellent unit. Mine had a scratch on top, but it's on a rack and you can't see it anyway. I bought this because over the years I have accumulated a bunch of European titles due to Amazon's horrible buy screens. I never threw them away because I knew one day, I'd have enough of them to them to buy a player. Recently I accidentally bought an entire set so that day is today. I had very little room for it and it fits like a glove. These are only 8 inches wide. These are actually brand new, but were reprogrammed to be nternational players in the software. I haven't tried a Blu Ray yet but I expect it to work just fine the way the DVDs do. Highly recommended.

This device will, as advertised, play all region blue ray disks BUT the picture will not fit the screen and the only remote control buttons that have any affect will restart the video. It is a sucker bait item.

This was sold as region free, but my German Blu-ray discs won't play on it. It gives an error saying this is the wrong region.

Significant improvement in image quality over a much cheaper Chinese player returned to Amazon earlier. Remote much easier to use also. Connections the same. The Sony player also contains Apps for links to Netflix , etc

This isn’t the product I bought. They gave me a crappy replacement that comes with no remote which is needed to switch over to different regions.

received it today and it did not come with a European adapter as advertised. Also the model of blu ray play is different then what is displayed as the purchase item.

I managed to get the blueray working with the steps successfully. I don't want to return it.
