A brilliant Stone Age adventure series!
This is an exciting Stone Age (on the cusp of the Bronze age) adventure series which is perfect for young children who are starting to learn about this period at school (recommended age range is 6-11 years)The book is set around the Orkney Islands in Scotland. In The Mysterious Island (Book 3) Wolf's rival, Rain has stolen his special amulet (as he wants to become the shaman instead) so Wolf has to follow him on a journey through forests and mountains to a mysterious island. Wolf finds temples and goddesses along the way but he is determined to get back his amulet on his quest to become a shaman. My daughter has really enjoyed listening to these stories at bedtime. It really brings this period of history to life and we have learnt a lot about this time without even realising! There are black and white illustrations throughout the books which help to capture the excitement of the story too.A great series of adventure, friendship and bravery in a brilliantly atmospheric time period.

A really fabulous series
The third in the gripping Wolfsong series about a cave-boy named Wolf.We are taken on an adventure through forests, mountains and to an island at the very centre of the world to reclaim a stolen amulet and a reset Wolf’s destiny.Wolf is a really super character for children to read about. Courageous, kind, forgiving and honest.

Cracking little Stone Age saga!
Saviour Pirotta has written a series that can be used in different ways through most of primary. Historically faithful but using creative license to craft a story that really immerses young readers in a prehistoric atmosphere. Looking forward to book 4!
