Great design, comfortable
I have this on my X-E1. Now holding the body with the larger 55-200 lens is not an issue. It also dramatically changes the overall ergonomics and I find, unless I need as small as possible, I leave it on all the time...even with the 35 f/1.4 or the 27 f/2.8. It does make the battery door a little harder to get to but you can get to it with this grip in place. It also makes removing the SD card more challenging than it should be (this was already hard on the X-E1 compared to my X100). Very easy to take on and off with the provided tool (take me about 5 seconds). Overall, I highly recommend this grip and I'm VERY glad I have it. A job well done Fuji! Why a 5 star if I had two minor issues with the design? It's all they had to work with...I think its the best they could do without just building it into the camera. The battery door issue is more a camera body issue than the grip...the grip just makes it more noticeable.

Great build, looks nice in the camera, although, small.
This is a very well built grip, that solves some of the problems of the previous one made for the X-E1. Although it helps to perform its main job of better handling of the camera, it does feel small on my average sized hand. The arca-swiss mount comes handy and the grip itself fits on the camera nicely - extending over the product's original design. I would consider this as a secondary grip to take on a small trip and one of the alternatives, with a bigger handle, for long hours usage.

Highly recommended and a big improvement over the lesser grip in ...
I previously purchased the lesser grip for my Fuji xe1. Sent it back because it was too small and inconvenient, plus it squeeked and moved when installed. Received this one yesterday and it is solid, fits tightly as if it were part of the body and is convenient when replacing the battery or removing the card. Highly recommended and a big improvement over the lesser grip in spite of the $45 premium. I'm now pleased with the decision to buy the better grip and will keep it.

Inspect your screw!! If you break the screw, well you are screwed! Fuji will make you pay if you break it!
The attachment (captive) screw broke the second time I went to attach it. It did not take a lot of torque at all to break. To make the screw captive, They turned (machines) the threads off the shank. The problem is that they removed way too much material towards the head, which they needed to because the plate is too darn thin (short). The result is a nice low profile screw with hardly any metal left for torque/shear strength!! I am talking maybe 1 millimeter thick wall between allen key hole and shank where the failure will occur (basically you have a hollow tube here instead of a solid rod)!! So I emailed and called Fuji customer service per their reply instruction. The customer rep tells me I need to send the whole darn thing in for repair and there will be a repair charge not to mention I have to eat the shipping charge too!! I was willing to pay for the screw and shipping but "sorry, we don't have them." was the answer. So I protested over the phone and the reply from him started off "yeah, for accessory items like this..." Well, thank you very much! Had I known, I would have gone to Really Right Stuff instead. I know they are more expensive but how much does your piece of mind worth? Knowing the stuff is designed and manufactured properly, and should you end up with a defective item, the manufacturer will support you?? I thought Fuji service was supposed to be above par. What if it was my camera body or the lens that broke instead? Will I be able to get any REASONABLE support??

Expensive, worth it?
This is a spendy hunk of aluminum! Well made and finished though and it matches the camera well. It comes with the correct allen wrench used to mount the grip to the camera. The tripod socket location on the Fuji X-E1 was an irritation for me. When mounted on a tripod the battery cover and SD door was not accessible. I have a project going where I take pictures from the inside of the a moving train with the camera mounted to the window looking out. Often times I take a lot of images over several hours and need to swap out the battery. It was a major annoyance to have to dismount the camera from the tripod to make the battery swap. This hand grip allows me swap the camera battery easily and quickly while the camera remains mounted on the tripod. It also adds a bit more hand grip to the camera. Frankly, I had no problem with holding the X-E1 in it's stock configuration, but the additional grip does no harm. It's up to you whether the $130 price is too much for a tripod socket relocation and a little extra grip.

Worth every penny.
The grip is excellent! It adds substance besides a more positive grip. It protects the bottom of the camera body. It relocates the tripod mount in line with the lens axis. Access to the battery and card are still available without the grip's removal. Though at first their removal is harder, I found that holding the camera with the access opening facing down, the battery and card removal is quite easy. There is nothing to dislike but the price and after having used it I think it is worth every penny.

Don't like it!
I really don't like this thing! I bought it to replace the original X-E1 hand grip and I'm truly sorry that I did. The original grip perfectly followed the smooth contours of the camera base and was/is extremely comfortable to hold and use.The new grip, on the other hand, is extremely uncomfortable to hold and to use. It is all sharp edges, almost sharp points, and on a recent trip, had I had an appropriate allen wrench I'd have removed the grip and thrown it in the Pacific Ocean. The real plus for the grip is the ability to remove battery and SD card without removing the grip . . . but the unpleasantness of holding the camera with grip attached far outweighs that accomplishment for me.I have both an X-E1 and an X-E2 and I plan to sell the new grip and get an original one for the other camera.Newer is not always better!!!!
