Does exactly what it says, prevents the coffee from agitating as much and adds to consistency when brewing. The water above the grounds is clear enough to see through, if that gives an idea of what it's for. Quality materials, and worth the price.

Second only to a high quality grinder, the Melodrip has quickly become the most important component of my coffee brewing routine. Nothing else has given me near the control of speed and flow that I’m able to achieve with this thing, and my coffee has been substantially – and consistently – more delicious since adding this to my extensive collection of nerdy coffee tools. I have several other pouring pitchers and shower heads, and while they’re OK, none of them has proven to be near as useful or effective as the Melodrip. Highly recommended.

I was very surprised at what a difference this makes. Smoothes things out and makes flavors more robust at the same time. Very happy with the purchase. I would recommend this to any coffee geek who wants to level up their pour over game.

Drips the way it should consistently. Does not agitate the mud bed when pouring. How ever I noticed my coffee tasting different as in not good different. Price is too high I think.

This is a fantastic device! Way better than I expected. I really can't do without it now.

I stumbled onto this tool by accident and .... wow. This does exactly what you want it to do. It's a good size for small or large servings. The coffee isn't disturbed as much and that elevates the flavor and quality of your pour overs. Great quality feel so I have high hopes, long term. Glad I found it!

Upfront: I use a Chemex carafe with a gold metal Osaka filter. I grind my own coffee, and, I like a variety of coffees but enjoy bourbons the best! I heat my water between 208 to 210 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, I calculate my coffee grind to water ratio (I know nerdy). I also suffer with acute allergies which of course affect my sense smell and taste. It is well made, but a little smaller than anticipated. It has taken me a couple of times of use to get the hang of it. Pouring whilst moving it in a counter clockwise direction, and not over pouring over the sides of it. Following the manufacturer's directions, stirring from the center outward against the filter during the bloom. I normally have stirred during the bloom but not so specific as the manufacturer's way. As others have said, the water on top is clear and the grind bed remains flat, unlike my usual pour with the grinds following the contour of the filter. The filtration of the water through the grinds did seem to go faster. Now to the taste. My wife felt that the coffee tasted stronger than usual, however, I could not tell the difference. So for me it is a pass, but for someone who's palate isn't affected by allergies or is more refined than mine this might be the ticket!

Works beautifully. Like a magic coffee wand. Easy to use. Makes all the difference. Metal and plastic. Clear color and super high quality for the money.
