MIXXIDEA Heavy Duty Extensible Deck Hook - Adjustable for Hanging Bird Feeders, Plants, Wind Chimes, Lanterns

I have no place to hang my hummingbird feeder so I bought this to clip on to my deck railing. It works perfectly and is very sturdy. We’ve had a lot of wind lately and it doesn’t budge. I’m very happy with it and may get another one. It was very easy to put together too.

Right out of the box they were just what I expected. Easily put them up on my ramp railing. Love the added security of the hole to nail them down on the top. Sturdy construction, they can also be swung to different positions...perfect for me...need to keep feeders n plants out of the reach of deer. And, it aides in easier filling of bird feeders or watering plants. Already ordering several more to line my ramp with more hanging pots/feeders.

Just placed them on my deck. They seem substantial. The parts that need to be screwed together, were wearing down the black color of the hook. Each time you screw it together, more of the coating comes off. Not sure how durable these are especially against the elements.

I have a cat, Chocolate Persian, a bit of a prima donna she is always bored and always wants my attention, and so I bought a bird feeder to provide 'kitty TV'. Works very well, she spends hours every morning before I wake up and then hours during the day bird watchig. I hear her attacking the screen door, cooing, chirping, meowing to the birds (to come closer) and in general very happy with her 'kitty TV'. I bought my first bird feeder at Tractor Supply. It was very simple and very effective and I tied it to my terrace with string. Almost immediately I realized there should be a better way to hang these feeders and I came upon these. The railing on my terrace is deep and wide and very few of the bird feeder accessories were going to work and so I purchased these. They came, I left them outside my door (as I do most of my shipping boxes) and assumed I would put them together tomorrow. I have no idea why I never got around to putting them up but I left them and them until it was too late to return them. Meanwhile I purchased every other type of bird feeder accessories to hold my feeders, one after the other. They required no assembly but frankly they all sucked. Then one day I bought a two tier feeder and hung it on a large S hook. It was okay but like the other attachment accessories the feeder hung crookedly using my railing as an anchor. Didn't bother me until I noticed a Mourning Dove get stuck on the crooked feeder. I panicked and eventually he managed to right himself and fly away. As you can guess I immediately went to assemble this 'Rail Hook' and I was so surprised. Took two seconds, I am a senior, semi-disabled and I hate assembling anything. (For instance I bought my cat her latest cat tree by researching all 'pre-assembled' cat trees, it works!) This thing was really easy to assemble, really easy to put my two tier bird feeder on and it hangs perfectly. No more issues with birds sliding and panicking, just the usual fights over food! I do recommend this hanging hook. I do not recommend the pre-assembled 'S' hooks or the other hanging hooks. Like I said, my railing is not an average size and most of hanging hooks do not work. This one also attaches differently and is more discreet. Since it does not attach off the top railing itself, it is less visible to apartment management and I have had no issues. Totally love it, will buy more.

This is a sturdy set up for handling any bird feeder. This is my second purchase of the unit. It can be shortened by using only one of the extension arms.

This deck hook is truly heavy duty and might have worked for me. However, the total height from the deck railing (top of clamp) and the hook is ~28" when using all 3 pieces to create a 42" long hook. My Brome Squirrel Buster Plus is also 28" from the top of its hanger to the bottom of the feeder. The feeding birds are therefore approx. level with the deck railing, which does not provide optimal viewing. If the angled piece that fits into the base clamp were threaded (it is not), then I could have screwed one extension rod into it and raised the entire deck hook. The necessary dimensions for determining this in advance are missing from the figures, although retrospectively, if I had done a little bit of trigonometric calculation before purchase, I could have figured this out.
