One star is too much.
If you need this information, this book does more harm than good. Linux is presented as being essentially unhackable, there is no discussion of system hardening or even browser fingerprinting. Author mentions wireless triangulation, but not IMSI catchers. 80% of the book is random stories on topics such as video games, the remaining 20% is very poorly researched. This guy has never disappeared, doesn't know anyone that has, and knows next to nothing about doing it.

Depressing
This book seems to be mainly about how an American man can move to Thailand or the Philippines, and date a lot of women there, very cheaply. The author is also preoccupied with going online in an “invisible” (non-traceable) way.Not what I was looking for.

Would leave zero stars if it was an option..
This is a terrible book, self published for obvious reasons. While the premise may be useful today, this author failed spectacularly through a lens groaning under the weight of racist and misogynistic perspectives. Amazon should remove this title. Can someone sane and feasible do justice to this premise please?

Bought as a Research Tool
I purchased this title as research for a suspense novel I'm working on. It did offer some ideas I could use, but as I wasn't planning on becoming invisible, only my characters will be considering vanishing.

Good for moving out of the country
This book has some good privacy tips, but is geared more towards those trying to leave the US than those who want privacy here.

Exploits of a ghost writer
The book was interesting for the insights on some foreign cultures and mentions of some anonymity tools. I'm not dealing with a stalker or any current personal financial or political threats. I likely won't need to hide in another country. This is anonymity way beyond what a normal American would find useful.

Could not put it down until I finished it.
Awesome book! I bought it because it sounded intriguing, never thinking I wouldn't get anything done today because I just could not put it down. Having lived in Ontario and Louisiana, I can attest to the accuracy of his observations, including those of going through US/Canadian customs. Great advice for many areas of one's life, especially if you have never taken your privacy seriously.

Not what I expected
I guess I was expecting some cool spy stuff from a retired cia officer or something. This is just paranoid ranting by a guy who has spent his life avoiding collection agencies.

Funny in parts too
This book was incredibly helpful. Funny in parts too, author has a great sense of humour. Wanting to relocate under the radar in America, Europe or Asia? This book has you covered. A MUST READ!
