So much better than vet cone
Really good for dogs. Ordered the same day as my poor pooch was fitted with the plastic vet collar which absolutely frightened her to the point she just froze. This item is firm but soft. Easy on and off with the velcro. But not easy for pooch to remove. So much more comfort than plastic ones. And washes well too. Thing to consider is it has less height to it than vet ones. Fortunately my dog was not able to reach her ear whilst wearing it but thats good to know. And if your pooch is reaching near the bigger size in measurement I would recommend next size up. Would definitely recommend this product.

Very comfy and easy to put on/off
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely brilliant. My boy had eye surgery and has to wear a cone for at least a week. The cone from the vet was hard plastic, not comfortable at all and couldn't be easily taken off and put on. He was crashing into the furniture and door frames with a bang. This must be painful to the neck, so I decided to order this soft cone for him. This cone is very easy to put on and take off. Can be wiped clean and I am sure washed. He can sleep, eat and drink while wearing it. This is 100% better than a plastic cone and I can highly recommend this cone. I needed it quickly and ordered it at 8pm in the evening and paid £5.99 for fast delivery. By 11am the next morning it arrived at my doorstep! I was very impressed. Ony 15hrs delivery time! Thank you much !

Excellent alternative to the basic plastic "Cone of Shame"
Following eye surgery my girl was due to wear the dreaded "Cone of Shame" constantly for 10 days. She was NOT happy about that! Basically, she refused to lay down at all and was unable to eat and drink with it fitted so an alternative was needed. Enter this Vetoo collar.I ordered this and another alternative to try out. Both are excellent but the Vetoo is the preferred one. Despite being a nice soft padded material it has more than enough strength to retain its shape when fitted, it doesn't "flop" around and therefore does the job of providing protection as well as the basic plastic one. It's incredibly easy to fit being a simple velcro fastener which is a revelation after the fiddly tongue and holes of the usual plastic affair. It's secure once fitted - easy to adjust to the size of your dog's neck and never threatened to come off (in fairness I should point out that my dog is very good and never tried to wriggle out of it so I can't comment on how it would stand up to an escape artist intent on getting it off!) The one thing it doesn't have is any tabs or loops to attach to a collar or other tie strap to help prevent its accidental (or deliberate!) removal. So did it meet with my dog's approval? Oh yes, with this fitted she was much happier - able to lie down in some comfort due to the soft padding and could eat with it fitted if necessary. I did remove it for mealtimes though just to try and keep it a bit cleaner - something that's easy to do with that velcro fastener.Talking of cleaning, I had to hand-wash it a few times for hygiene reasons - my dog is a prolific drooler around mealtimes. That's Boxers for you! It washed up really well and showed no signs of wear and tear after a month of constant use and cleaning. She didn't wear it out and about for walkies - I used the alternative collar for that purpose as it was longer and gave better protection for her eye against her trying to stick her nose into everything (plus it was easier to spot-clean with antibac) but for indoor use this Vetoo one was on constantly.I'd definitely recommend this collar and if necessary I'd buy another one, although I think it will last well for future use.

Brilliant Except My Cat Can Remove It!
So, apart from the fact my cat can remove this, making it unfortunately not fit for purpose for this particular cat, I can't fault the cone in terms of softness, fit, or ease of use. The opening (not the part around the neck) is a little smaller than expected and the length was too long for my cat to eat, plus she can't see with it on, but these were minor problems that were worth having her wounds heal - which are unfortunately facial. She was able to lay down with it on, and seemed comfortable enough.

Fabulous. Much better than the plastic ones.
This is great. I have a scottish terrier and this size is good. He can get to his back feet though.

Ok
Great idea. I am glad I bought a size up. Not deep enough and to soft to stop dog from reaching his wound

Perfect for our staffy
Our staff had to have ear surgery and was a complete menace with a plastic cone. We got this in a size 6 (medium sized dog) and it just fit her - she's a medium sized staffy and she has a fairly chunky neck, it wouldn't fit a large staff though. It was also quite short, which was fine for her but probably wouldn't be for dogs with bigger heads / longer muzzles! The velcro fastening provides some sturdiness as it's quite a wide, solid strip, so prevents the cone folding back unless your dog really tries to get it off, but if your dog has to wear this for more than a couple of weeks that will slowly flex up and the cone will lose some structure. We were lucky as whilst she sulked, she didn't really try and get the cone off - it folded back a couple of times when she squeezed through gaps (and only after she'd been wearing it for a week or so) but not the sort of thing that would happen often. It stopped her scratching at her ear, which was obviously our main concern - she didn't even really try whilst the cone was on, I think she knew it was futile! It is fairly lightweight and washed really well - I even tumble dried it a couple of times and it was fine. She was happy to sleep in it, as you can see, and it can be flipped so the green is on the outside which is great for visibility if you have to take them out. Wouldn't recommend for long term use, but she wore hers for 3 weeks and it just about held up. Her peripheral vision was shot though, so she did a lot of walking into things for the first few days!
