Otter box defender vs pelican shield
I bought this case after buying the otter box defender and decided to do a comparison between these 2 bc they are probably the most well known brands in terms of durability and ruggedness. Here goes (and they are all out of 5 points)...Protection. Otterbox-4.5. Excellent case with both a hard shell and rubber exterior. Also liked the padding inside the hard case. Took .5 off bc the lip for the screen and the camera is rather shallow. Pelican-4. Good case but there is no rubber padding on the outside or inside of the plastic case. The lip on the screen and camera is deeper though.Functionality-otterbox-5. Every button is easy to get to. Pelican-3. The bottom charging slot is very difficult to get to as it is very tight and the clasp has a small lip on it, so even when u forcefully open the clasp all the way ur still gonna have trouble with the charger bc the lip is still blocking the access. Not a problem if ur wirelessly charging but if not, then this alone is a deal breaker.Looks-otterbox-3. Plain and simple look, the combinations of colors are somewhat ugly. Pelican-5. Looks very nice clean and tactical.Grip-otterbox-4. Rubber exterior is good for gripping but bad for putting in pockets. Pelican-4. Smooth plastic grip that is good for putting in pockets but not so good for grip.End result: both cases have their own good and bad but both seem extremely durable. If u r an outdoorsman or are gonna out ur phone through lots of grief then get an otterbox. But if u want a better than average strength case and want something that looks appealing then get the pelican. **But if u are planning to use the bottom cord slot at all, do not get this case and go with the otterbox.**

Misleading Description
I previously bought the Pelican Marine for my iPhone X and was very pleased with it. I bought another for my new iPhone 12 Max Pro thinking it would be the same and was vey disappointed to find that it does not provide the same protection as it only protects the back and not the front and it’s not waterproof as the name implies. With a $70 price tag it is overpriced. There are better cases with full protection at half the price.

No screen nor lens protection
It says it protects your smartphone and its screen from scratches. It does not. There is no integrated screen or lens cover. The Pelican Marine for the 11 Pro Max completely enclosed the phone. This case, which is apparently made by Case-Mate, who just licensed the Pelican name, has no lens cover and the front is just a bumper with no integrated screen cover at all. No protection from keys in your pocket or other scratches.

MUFFLES MICROPHONE SO ITS HARD FOR PEOPLE TO HEAR YOU
Couldnt figure out why everyone was saying they could barely understand me on phone. Finally ran test.. its the case muffling voice and blocking the microphone. Amazing for such an expensive case. Plus its not wireless compatible.. not that it matter if people cant hear you worth a crap on the phone.

Not the Pelican case I use to know....Disappointed
I had the same Pelican Marine Case for my older iPhones, and probably a small physical damage here and there with the time, but they use to keep the phone safe and clean inside. Those old Pelican cases had the clear protective film attached to protect the screen. Now none of them comes with protection for the screen, so you need to spend more money on a screen protector. The dust gets inside the case, and the worst part is that the microphone gets obstructed. So you need to remove the case or wear headphones to speak on the phone. I think you can get all those "perks" with a cheap case instead of paying near $80 for this.

Sturdy Two-Piece Case
Neither the Amazon description nor the Pelican website described this case in enough detail for me, particularly how it differed from others. It is a two piece case with the top piece locking onto the bottom with three latches. The fit is very snug and there is a small rise all around the front screen and back camera array, which would protect either from directly contacting a flat surface. Very pleased so far.

High quality but not compatible with MagSafe
UPDATE: I received my MagSafe charger, this case is not compatible. Very disappointed.Solid, high quality strong case, which I believe could withstand a drop. But it’s smooth plastic and slippery. I am afraid it will slip out of my hands. I don’t know why they didn’t make the sides soft or more gripable. Other than that its good case.

Better than the other cases for these reasons...
I have used belt-clip cases for my iPhones for many years. I used the defender ones from that river-muskrat company and thought they were great. However, I wanted my new iPhone 12 mini to be able to show off its pretty color, so I opted for the clear large-seabird company case. This one is better not only because it is clear, it also has a better designed holster with some cutaways that allow you remove your phone more easily, and the clicking mechanism that converts the clip to a stand is easier to use and feels more secure.I can't speak to longevity or drop-protection, but I can definitely recommend this case.

Way better than iPhone X old Pelican shield case, JUST PERFECT.
Pro:Solid make, fit tight and G10 backplate way better than Kavler one give amazing gripy feel.3 ratchs are solid and to keep case as one, and amazingly those ratch are supported by some solid metal joint parts.Con:Bit heavier than I thought but I guess since its a upgrade from iPhone X, 12 pro max is just a heavy one.Not the case problem for sure.

VERY VERY SLIPPERY AND BUTTONS FALL OFF!
Very very slippery! Thought the case would have a bit of a grip but no it’s too Slippery! And the buttons fall off very easily please note while cleaning the case do not press on the buttons when the phone is not in the case as it will come off and will get lost especially if you are cleaning it by washing it in the sink beware it will go into the drain. If it falls on the floor the buttons are nearly impossible to find! There should be a warning about this in the advertising material!

great
Great quality. Bit bulky and heavy but I have been using this kind of case before in my previous phone and it really protects the phone and at the same time you can show off your phone.

Just Ok, slippery in hand
Rubber lip around back of case already damaged. Product describes itself as practically indestructible but that remains to be seen. Product is very slippery in hands, little to no grip like with other high end cases. Overall it looks good and it’s just okay. For the price I should’ve followed my gut and went with Otterbox again.
