COMP Cams 4934 Camshaft Degree Kit for Small Block Chevrolet

My golly, the slide for the gauge does NOT fit inside the large hole to adjust for rocker.. its the PRIMARY attachment to set the gauge up on top of the rocker.The retarded crank socket is so loose it moves 3-4 degrees each time! and this on a 350sbc of all things! Instructions are unbelievably bad, not a SINGLE pic. Annoying allen set screws of all sizes on half the things but not a single allen in the box -I turned the larger arm down on the lathe to make it go thru- dont really know what I just pad 200 bucks for? fancy kid on a cad program who has NEVER used this tool..Cons:Instructions are useless (not that I care - easy to figure out but really?)Crank socket still moves-Fiddly bits with no descriptionPros:Case is niceGauge worksLooks shinyFree sticker

As described this kit is for use while checking cam timing/lift with the heads REMOVED from the engine. It works well once you figure it out and comes with everything needed to install on a SB Mopar engine. I used it on an 03 Dodge 5.9L Magnum engine. As a person who has never used one of these, my only gripe is that the instructions do not explain how to use this particular tool. In my case the included instructions explained how to use the other kit (checking lift at the valve spring while the heads are ON the engine). I had to resort to YouTube and Google to figure out how to properly install. What I found is that this fixture is identical (if not made by) to the Proform kit #66830. The difference (besides price) is that the Comp Cams kit includes a degree wheel, and crank turning adapter.

Dial Indicator was junk, could not unscrew the small pointer at end to install the 5 inch extension. Had to use vice grips to hold the shaft and vice grips to remove the point, which then unscrewed, But would not allow me to screw in the 5 inch extension and bent it in the process. Also during the attempt remove the bottom pointer the Dial indicator lost its ability to "spring back" to 0. Expected alot more from comp cams.

This is the only degree wheel I've ever used, but seemed nice enough. There was a slight bend/dent at one part on the outside of the wheel, but it didn't cause any issues. A few tick marks were also worn off/not printed, perhaps due to the dent, but didn't cause me any issue.

Was really disappointed when I got the kit and it did not fit the crank snout. Asked questions to the sell (jegs) received no customer support at all. Sent it back and bought the new version straight from comp. FYI it comes with the pro socket.

well printed and also plenty thick steel wheel. Not aluminum, and plenty stuff, I was expecting to be thinner. I used on a SBC, the 3 holes line up perfectly to SBC balancer threaded holes so just need some spare bolts to set up.

It's a metal disc with degree marks on it - exactly what I wanted. Worth noting that the intake/exhaust markings are set up for an engine rotating counter-clockwise unless I'm misunderstanding it. Did not use for degreeing a camshaft, only for finding true TDC.Amazon shipped it in a truly ridiculous amount of packaging, a 12"x8"x3" (roughly) box and tons of packing material.

This cant be mounted to a ford FE. There is no way to center it on crank shaft. There is 3 holes to mount it to a harmonic balancer, but none of them line up with any of the harmonic balancers that I have. I now have to make a bushing for it to fit. Its basically $150 frisbee.
