The Real G-8 Lens! Laser Diode Engraving Focus - G8 M9x0.5 LM2 NEJE USA!

I bought this for an Ortur Laser Master 2 that uses a knurled knob on a nut attached to the laser head to find focus.First, the lens does not come with instructions but you can find instructions online. The best way to change it is to unscrew the barrel from the OEM lens (this required some effort and tools). Then screw this lens into the knob that came with the laser. Make sure you have the notched side of the barrel facing down. If you install the the wrong way the laser spot will be a big rectangle that will not focus.Second, I understand why some negative reviews say that the lens barrel is loose and wiggles. The problem is that you have to unscrew the lens nearly all of the way out of the socket to find focus. This means that the barrel is almost completely unscrewed causing it to wiggle. They should make the lens barrel longer to allow it to be unscrewed enough to focus it without wiggling.To fix this issue I first attempted to lower the laser head with a special 3D printed a mount so I could find focus without unscrewing the lens all the way out. Unfortunately, lowering the laser on the ORTUR Laser Master 2 is not possible because it will cause it to crash into the front rail when homing.Hence, the only solution is to put something underneath the work piece to raise it up so that you will be able to find focus without unscrewing the lens too much.

Even adding teflon tape to make the fit snug it still wobbles and the adjustment ring is too small to adjust while test firing the laser. I bought it because I heard great stories how good the G8 lens is but if you can't focus it then it doesn't matter.

Barrel needs to be a half size longer and a better end bolt to better assist focusing needs.

As others have reported the barrel length is short and you do have to put Teflon tape on it to keep it from being too loose. Also the focus ring is quite small. However taking the time to do all of that this was a definite upgrade to the stock lens on my NEJE 20w laser. It has a longer focal length so I had to raise my laser a little higher even with the lens screwed almost all the way in, but I definitely notice a difference in burning power.

I changed the lens on my ortur laser, LU 1-4 from the original supplied to this laser hooping to get a more focused beam. I was happily surprised when i noticed this focused way way more intense, smaller, thinner diode beam. I am very please with this result.

I didn’t like the fact that it is wobbly in my laser. While engraving, it becomes out of focus.

Did not focus properly. Cut edges were uneven burning a much bigger area then the original lens. Used a USB microscope to focus and spent quite a bit of time to ensure I would get it right. The barrel was about half the length of the original as well.

This was a fantastic addition to my Ortur laser. Once I got the old lens out of the housing, this lens was easily installed. The projects burn with better precision and darker engraving. Focusing is easier and the beam is tighter.
