Decent quality hand bound leather journal
Wasn't expecting much, just wanted to get into Journaling again and this looked just interesting enough to keep my attention long enough to turn into a habit. This thing came in a fancy carrying bag, and it looks fantastic. The paper feels good to write on and the leather is decent quality, especially for the price. It's big enough to write on, but small enough I can throw it in my shoulder bag(and believe me I intend to) to take with me. I've seen quite a few people complain about an odor, but honestly I didn't notice anything offensive, like if I put it right up to my face I could get a faint whiff of leather making smells but it really is like... nose ON the cover close. Honestly my only complaint would be a few more pages would be nice, but honestly that's such a minor complaint and there is still a couple hundred or so pages anyway. Can't wait to use it

Good enough to give as a gift, well made and pretty.
There are so many leather journals available on Amazon and this is one of the cheapest (lowest in price) in this B6 size. I kept thinking I should buy one of the 30+ dollar ones to make sure the quality was nice. But the quality on this one is great! It smells like new shoes, which doesn't make me mad. The leather is pliable and soft but not floppy-- not too thick or thin. I was worried it would be stiff and cardboardy-- not at all. It doesn't pull up, wrinkle, or change color when you roll it and I scratched it with my fingernail and it was very hard to leave a scuff mark. The paper is thick and just what I expected for this kind of journal. I tugged on the signatures and they seem sturdy. There is some slight staining on the pages where the signatures are tied in the middle, but it doesn't bother me as I expect that sort of quirk/imperfection in a handmade good. I opted for this one over another even lower priced one because the signatures are sewn in with what looks to be waxed linen and I thought that would hold up better than leather straps that could become brittle. I like the wraparound cover, it's a nice way to get yourself psyched up to write. This was 16.99 when I bought it and I think it's good enough to give as a gift, but it doesn't come in any kind of gift packaging like some of the other notebooks available on Zon. Still, I would rather pay so much less for such a nice journal and wrap it myself. Would buy again for sure.

Made With Care...
I have purchased several similar journals, and decided to try this one. It was the only one that came with a note and contact information for any concerns I might have, which of course, there were none. The cuts are made more carefully than the others I’ve bought, and the strap is cut with precision, straight and even, rather than being made from scrap with an edge of varying width, as the others have. It is also slightly longer, which I prefer. It is handmade paper, so expect what comes with that. In all the journals I get with handmade paper, there may be one or two pages that have a fleck of something other than white, and there may have an occasional, ever-so-slightly thicker or thinner spot. Not enough to leave a lump, and not enough to have a thin spot. Just for those people that are used to machine-made paper, it isn’t machine-made paper. That is what gives it its lovely appearance and writing experience. If you don’t want the qualities and the inherent nature of handmade paper, don’t buy handmade journals. If you enjoy the qualities, then they are for you. The other journals I bought used leather strips to lash the paper in. This journal uses waxed cord, which keeps it more pliable and more durable over time. The leather strips would be hard to keep conditioned, it would be quite a meticulous task, and one still wouldn’t be able to get to every bit of them, and over time, they could dry out and crack and break, whereas the waxed string won’t do that. Leathers strips also add to the thickness, because of the knots to tie them in between each section of pages, so this one isn’t as thick as the others, because it doesn’t have the bulky knots between each section of pages. It’s obvious that much care is going in to the making of these journals, and I’m quite happy with mine. You won’t find anyone else as concerned with the quality and with your satisfaction. Of that, I’m sure.

Great for artists and writers
I've ordered these journals multiple times, and I've never been disappointed. They have thick, vegetable tanned covers and hand sewn, textured pages. I've used these primarily for laser-engraving gifts because they are high quality and low-cost. After engraving, I use a leather conditioner, which really makes these feel look high-end. One of my favorite things about these is that the pages absorb ink really well, so even fountain pens don't bleed. The pages are thick enough for drawing as well. I also really like the size. While they feel substantial in my hands, they're not too large to tuck into a purse or backpack, which makes them great for school, work, or writing or drawing outdoors.

This journal was exactly what I was looking for.
I run a tabletop RPG for my nephews and wife. It's a great way for us to keep in touch with the boys and make some memories. One of the nephews asked for a leather-bound journal to use as a gaming journal. He wanted something that felt appropriate for a fantasy setting. This journal was exactly what I was looking for. The entire thing feels well-made. None of the pages were loose, and all of the materials felt sturdy. The paper is a good thickness and unlined. The leather strap that one uses to keep it closed is made of the same leather as the cover, and it's long enough to wrap the book securely with plenty of length left over. I wrapped it quickly, held it up by the corner of one of the covers, and shook it. The strap kept the journal snuggly closed. The leather is soft and has the rough, unpolished finish that I wanted. I have a feeling that with consistent use, the leather will become partially smoothed and polished by the author's hands. My nephew loved it. It was just what he was hoping for. I got the 7.5"x5" version. It's small enough to slip into a backpack or large pocket, yet the pages are large enough to hold journal entries, notes, and small sketches. If you're looking for a notebook that's sturdy, convenient, and satisfying to hold, this is the one for you.

This is a truly lovely product.
Honestly spent ages searching online for a good journal. I wanted something I could write, draw and do thought exercises in, something that would make me enthusiastic about making an entry in. And I am not disappointed. The book is lovely, smells like fresh leather, the paper is amazing. This makes me want to make those entries, I feel excited about my next entry. Tips for beginner journal writers: • buy a fun pen, like a calligraphy or fountain pen to make each entry like an art project or give you that historical vibe. • Get a journal that makes you enthusiastic about entering your thoughts. • If you don’t know or are anxious about what to write in your first entry, write about that anxiety or nervousness of making the entry and then record where you work, what you do, where you live, any pets you have, because in a few years you’ll look back and realise how much things have changed, or that pet may no longer be with you. • Writing about the things and people you love, or things that make you feel strong emotion will give you the best value out of your journal, as when we are emotional, writing about it can help us sort through our thoughts and feelings rationally. • Perform some CBT or Stoic thought exercises if you are needing things to write about. These can be of great benefit to your mental health and help you be resilient each day. As a practising Stoic, this diary is an exceptional entry into my arsenal of tools to combat the turmoils of life. This journal, or any handmade by KomalC will surely become a great friend and assist you in your journey.

Unique style, great leather feel, smell and quality, nice ambience, good use!
I didn't want to have a basic cardboard writing book, I wanted to have something special for my use case. When I opened up the package for the first time, I was already impressed that the book came in a nice, classical-style black cotton bag to keep it in. When I opened up the book, I really liked the authentic smell of leather. It set a tone for the book, and the addition of a leather strap to keep it shut, it made it feel like a center peice rather then just an accessory or journal. 10/10, will buy more as I need them, and the craftsmenship is impressive!
