Bruder 03554 Scania R-Series Cement Mixer Truck

My 3 1/2 year-old son got this from Santa last year. He absolutely loves this thing! It is his favorite truck and has stood up to his abuse for a year now. He has had every truck you can imagine over the last couple of years and is very hard on his toys. Most wind up with broken wheels and missing tires immediately. Then the body damage begins. After a month or so, most 'things that go' don't go anymore! This truck seemed very expensive but once we saw it we understood why! It is huge and very well made. I really think it is the only vehicle he has ever had that held up for a year with no damage, making it worth the price of 4 cheaper trucks easily. Nevermind how nice it looks and how well everything works on it. Very glad Santa chose this to satisfy my son's request for a concrete mixer. I just wish we could afford to buy him more of their collection. Oh, and the catalog tht comes with it has become a favorite 'book' of his. He still has that catalog a year later and constantly flips through daydreeaming about the next truck he wants. Very cute!

I ordered this truck as a 'Big Brother' gift for my son, who was soon to have a sibling. (A little positive reinforcement to make up for the divided attention).When I opened the box, I was amused and amazed, at the size of this thing. This truck was bigger than the newborn.I dont have the measurements with me, but i'm a full grown adult - while I can lift and hold it in one hand, if i'm going to carry it around, I better use two.The build quality is excellent, and so is the attention to detail. Among all the toys that I have bought for my son, (all of them bought here in the US, but made probably in China or elsewhere), this German built toy, has by far the best build quality.My son who is 3, absolutely loves this truck.I took the suggestion of another reviewer, and use simple stuff from the kitchen to mimic sand, gravel, and cement, and encouraged my son to put them in there and rotate the drum. He flipped his lid when they all came back out as they should have.He was a bit bummed that I wouldnt let him add water like a real mixer truck, but there is only so much a toy truck can do, and I didnt want to risk ruining a perfectly good toy such as this.We are officially Bruder fans now,and will buy more Bruder trucks for sure!

Pros: Bruder construction = top notch toy. Great colors. Working mechanisms.Cons: Well, not cons, but some improvements could be made: the red winding mechanism didn't last long and was hard for little hands to grasp. Also, many toys can be put in the mixer but will not come out without prying it open (a way to more easily get out toys would be great - even if it's not part of the design of a real cement mixer).But with 3 boys playing with it (and their friends), it's held up very well.

My 5 year old son absolutely loves this cement mixer. The Bruder line of trucks are all very well made and extremely detailed and thus make them well worth the price you pay for them. We now own several trucks from Bruder and have been pleased with all of them.The mixer itself is functional and he likes to put marbles down inside the truck to "mix up". You turn the handle one way to mix them up and then the opposite direction to make them come out and down the shoot in the back. Highly recommend buying this truck, you will not be disappointed.

Before I praise the item, let me compliment the vendor, Outback Toys of PA. They had a great selection, the price was right, and delivery was swift and safe. The item was very well packaged, and made the trip without any problems. As to the item, Bruder is of the highest quality. I recently started purchasing Bruder toy trucks as gifts, and they are fantastic. Very much appreciated by the recipient. Between Bruder and Outback Toys, a winning combination.

I have two boys and they love these toys!The cement mixer was a perfect addition to our collection. The toys are remarkably tough being all plastic , that's not to say unbreakable because that's impossible as any parent will testify!! Really realistic and enjoyable for all ages to play with ( including Dads) down side is getting your kid to let you play with it may be tough!!

My Grandson and his parents loved this toy because of its ability to entertain with its rotating cement drum that makes noise with dried beans in the tank. Bruder trucks are the very best for authentic details, scale, and authenticity. They are also very durable and good quality. My Grandson is getting a big Bruder logging truck for Christmas, 2017, because he saw one and asked for it.

My 3.5 yr old son received this cement truck from Santa this year. It has gotten lots of use in the last week already. Following another reviewers suggestion, this will be an indoor toy for another month or so and I have given him a mixed bag of dried beans which he uses as boulders and cement, depending on what his play is that day. He loves anything construction and this is a good addition to his existing large Tonka dump truck (still indoor toy after 2 years) and 2 old Tonka metal diggers I found on ebay that are for outside play.The mixer part of truck really works well. You use the little handle on the red tank behind the driver cab and it will get every last bean out of the truck. I also appreciate that there are storage areas on both sides of the mixer to hold the extensions of the cement chute, so that they won't get lost. The doors open on both sides of cab, so a drive can fit in if you have anything of the right size. I believe I saw a Star Wars Clone Trooper driving the truck the other day :-) The truck does not bend between the cab and mixer, but that hasn't stopped my little guy from having so much fun! Would buy again in a minute.
