Bruder Toys 02771 Man Fire Engine

This was a must-have Letter-to-Santa item for our five year old son. He played with this for over 3 hours at a friend's house so he wanted one too. He has played with it everyday since Christmas. The best part about this toy is the ability to fill the base with water and shoot the water from a long hose. This feature makes the toy. He also enjoys the ladder that goes very high and the lights and sounds (horn, siren, and engine sounds) of the fire engine. The toy is made of plastic but it is not cheaply constructed. German toys have a high level of quality from my experience. I would compare the plastic to that of my son's Imaginext toys. It is quite large in size (about 2 feet long and 9 inches high) and has offered our son hours of fun both inside and outside. It is a well made toy and gets the imagination going. I would highly recommend this toy even if the price point is a bit on the high side - this is the most expensive toy we have ever purchased for our son.

We bought this for our son's 4th firetruck theme birthday. We had previously purchased a Bruder construction vehicle, similar in size and quality. These things are made to play, play, play and are INSANELY realistic and high quality. The firetruck was our present for him and also served as a display/decoration for his actual birthday party. We even put a cupcake in the ladder basket and that's where he blew out the candle! It was adorable. The hose that pumps water for real is a unique feature that the kids couldn't believe and can't get enough of. All parts have stranded the test of time since his party thus far...it's already been about 5 months. I spent a TON of time trying to find a more economical firetruck but seriously...this one was the most realistic looking without looking really 'toddler/kidd-ish' and I knew the quality of the materials from a previous Bruder purchase...so decided to just spoil our son with this one :).

I purchased the Bruder man Fire Engine for a relative on mine. He has not stopped playing with it since it arrived. It is definitely his favorite truck. It looks so authentic and the details on the truck are very well done . The fire truck is made of strong plastic and it seems very durable for the rough treatment that it is getting. The ladder can be turned and raised up to to about 18 inches with a tub to carry a figure of a fireman(not included ). It comes with a hose that can actually shoot water out of a reservior, it the body of the truck, for playing outdoors. The fire truck comes with a siren and flashing lights. This is a great toy. Very little assembly is required.

This brand of truck is wonderful in my opinion. It has a wonderful amount of detail, working, extendable ladder, the engine lifts forward to show off the engine. We haven't tried the water pumping feature, but it seems great. My father has 3 other Bruder products, and this fire truck adds to our garbage truck at home for our 3 year old son. They get a wonderful amount of usage. There have been some issues with pieces breaking, but we moved this year, and the move was not kind.I wouldn't hesitate to buy another!UPDATE:After a month and a half, the truck is still holding up well, especially considering how many parts there are. I will note that the hose nozzle comes off the hose easily, I'm sure there is a good reason for it, but i find that i'm chasing down a small grey nozzle at least once a week. The truck has taken a few tumbles from 2-3 feet and is holding up well, not that i'd suggest such abuse. The kids still love it, and i'm still very happy with my purchase!

I'll do my best to give a fair review. We currently own a Bruder garbage truck, cement mixer, and this fire engine. My 3yr old son loves to play with these almost daily.The good:- If the child is into 'trucks', this will be much liked- They are pretty big- They have features the simulate the real deal. On this fire engine that includes ladders that extend and a pump and hose that will spray real water.The not as good:- They do cost quite a bit for what you get.- They are only plastic and some things will break. At first I was a little concerned and wanted my son to be more careful, but quickly gave up on that. Now he plays as he wants, and to be fair they have held up pretty well.Overall: recommend if your child loves trucks. Many hours of playtime is great. Getting a few minutes of peace while they do their own thing is priceless sometimes.

I bought this firetruck for my 4 year old grandson and he loves it. Even though it is plastic, it is well made, with lots of small details. The ladder works smoothly. The firehose unrolls without any problem, There are a number of stick on names for the front of the firetruck for different countries, so we changed to a US Firetruck name easily. There are detachable flashing lights which can be changed. We just put two on the truck and put the rest away in case one gets lost. The siren does not sound like a US firetruck, but he did not appear to notice. This is a nice quality firetruck which seems like it will last for a while. He has already played with it continuously for 2 weeks without any problems. I would buy a Bruder product again.
