Perfect book for preteen girls!
I bought this after following the author on social media. I knew I loved her advice but wasn't sure how it would fit with our preteen daughter. I bought the book for her to read and figured I would look through it as well. My daughter LOVES this book and so wishes Sissy lived in our neck of the woods. I would highly recommend this for any girl (probably ages 11 and up). Our daughter is a worrier and this was perfect for her! She felt like she had some tools to assist with her worry after this. That said, I think this would be a great gift for any girl, life is tough and this book allows them to add a few tools to their toolbox for how to deal with life.

It has helped so far
I have no dislikes in regards to the book. I wish my daughter would read it all at once instead of only when she is having anxiety attacks or crazy big emotions. What she has read so far, she has liked and things make sense. It's just a matter of her FINISHING the book. I do recommend for girls who struggle with anxiety or even just overwhelming emotions.

Not just for teens
I led a Bible study group for teen girls using this book. They aren’t the only ones that got something out of it. It truly helps to understand anxiety; why it happens, how it feels, and how to help control it. Highly recommend.

Helped my daughter
I wasn’t sure if my daughter would take the time for this book, but one she started she got into it on her own and would read without reminding. She’s 13, and I think it has been helpful for her.

Pre-teen was excited and engaged.
My 10 year old finished this book, journaling included, like it was life-blood. A superb resource which I then read and gobbled up voraciously. It's accessible CBT grounded in christianity.

Christian self-help book - disappointing
There are some good and useful points in the book, but constant reference to God and Christ undermine any helpful advice and are very off-putting. It is a shame that the author could not separate her religious belief from her work in counselling. For religious teens, the book may be helpful but non-religious ones may find it difficult to stick with and take seriously. Had I read the descriptions and reviews in more detail before buying the book I would have never ordered it, so the issue is my own. However, my blurb will, hopefully, make it more clear to others what to expect from the book and help make better informed decision regarding purchase.
