Great Knife
Before Reading the LAST paragraph below, keep POINTS 1-4 in mind regarding configurations:1. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ VG-10 Steel, Plain or Serrated edge: This knife is good for everyone as the steel holds and edge well, and resharpens easily enough, it is also relatively corrosions resistant.2. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ ZDP 189 Steel, Plain edge: FIRST, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT KNIFE: I have not seen it offered in a Serrated edge but they my offer it I am not sure: This knife is ONLY GOOD FOR THOSE WHO ARE EXPERTS AT SHARPENING KNIVES. This steel is extremely hard and holds and edge exceptionally well. The disadvantage is that it takes someone who is a very skilled sharpener to resharpen and work with this steel. It is 3% carbon so it is susceptible to corrosion if not cared for properly.3. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ H1 Steel, Plain or Serrated edge: This knife is good for everyone. This steel is advertised as RUST PROOF. This steel is relatively hard and holds an edge well, and resharpens easily enough.4. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ Aogami Blue Super Steel (Spyderco does Sprint Runs with this metal), Plain or Serrated edge: This knife is ONLY GOOD FOR THOSE WHO ARE EXPERTS AT SHARPENING KNIVES. This steel is extremely hard and holds and edge exceptionally well. The disadvantage is that it takes someone who is a very skilled sharpener to resharpen and work with this steel. It is a high carbon steel so it is susceptible to corrosion if not cared for properly. However. Syperco counters this by sandwiching the Aogami Blue Super Steel between a layer of 420J Steel on each side. This protects the Aogami steel from chipping, breaking, and corrosion. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHOICES. IT DOES TAKE SOME EFFORT TO SHARPEN CORRECTLY AS NOTED ABOVE, BUT THE RESULTS ARE WORTH THE EFFORT!NOW, WRITTEN BELOW ARE MY GENERAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE KNIFE IN GENERAL. THE ABOVE FACTS ARE SPECIFIC TO THE DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS OF STEELS AND BLADE TYEPES OFFERED.I am a huge fan of the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 in any of its configurations. This is a smaller knife that does not know it is a smaller knife. Its ergonomics allow it to be used as a larger knife. Its small size allow it to be used as an excellent ED (Every Day Carry). You can take this knife out in public, and because of its smaller size, most people do not generally look at you like you are evil or at looking to do harm to others. This knife has a generous blade and its light weight of 1.1 oz. makes it a joy to carry as you can easily forget that it is even in your pocket. The pocket clip allows for easy deployment and can be switched for left or right carry or you can simply take the clip off and carry it in a pocket. This knife can even be used on a keychain or a neckless due to its light weight. I own many expensive knives, but this relatively inexpensive knife has become on elf my favorite knives. NO MATTER WHICH STEEL YOU CHOSE, THIS KNIVE IS CAPABLE OF EDGES FOR HAIR WHITTLING LEVELS OF SHARPNESS!!!THIS IS AN EXCELLENT KNIFE NO MATTER WHICH STEEL OF BLAKE CONFIGURATION YOU CHOSE. IT IS HARD TO GO WRONG WITH THE PURCHASE OF THIS KNIFE!!!

the best carry knife you'll find.
Spyderco is just hard to beat. this little knife works flawlessly, is small and thin perfect for the front pocket, the rough plastic, housing and clip prevents it from falling out, easy to open and close, the blade shape is highly functional, it is without a doubt my favorite daily carry knife.

Sensational EDC utility in a small package
Top line: The smallest, toughest, sharpest quick deployment EDC knife you will findGood: Wow is all I can say on this knife (not literally, or the review would end here). I bought it because I wanted to go as small as possible while still having a highly functioning Every Day Carry (EDC) pocketknife. Being a fan of other Spyderco knives I've owned, I gave this one a shot and have been blow away. Everything on this knife is pretty much perfect. The 2" leaf head has a razor sharp edge out of the box that has held almost completely over the 18 months I've carried it. The standard Spyderco deployment hole is as effective as ever, much faster and more precise that your typical flipper/thumb peg options. No liner lock thank goodness; a nice handle release on the back. Body itself is grippy without being abrasive. The VG-10 steel offers great performance/value. One probably overlooked and underappreciated feature: the over and under jimping of the head makes it very hard for this knife to slip in your grip, even with the small handle. Great work all around on this one, Spyderco. I got this knife in the orange color, and that makes it almost impossible to lose. Before you opt for simple black, consider living a little (orange and yellow typically run a little cheaper also!).Bad: Not much here. Probably a tad pricey for the average buyer, but worth it for the lasting value IMO. Also, the blade head is a little short, as advertised--you may get limited performance on some tasks that require a longer edge. This should be obvious if you go into this purchase with your eyes open. Just the slightest hint of play when locked, which I'll take in exchange for not having a liner lock.Other: If you are planning for your survivalist trip alone in the wild or some wannabe Rambo type entering a war zone, you probably want to go with something a little bit more substantial. But for around the town, on the job use, this knife is terrific.

Nice light little knife
4/21/24. 90 day update: Has been in my pocket everyday and I have zero complaints. I tear down a couple boxes a day, plus cutting tape, foam and other normal warehouse use. I have only sharpened once. Small enough to carry and use in front of non-knife people, big enough to get the job done. I do not have huge hands, I wear a large cadet golf glove if that helps, your mileage may vary.Nice little knife for work. It is light weight and the pocket clip design does not catch on anything. The blade is centered and came very sharp. The edge is holding pretty well. The lock is solid and makes a nice click when opening.

Perfect?
This is an amazing knife. I love the vg10 steel and the aesthetics, but it's the ergonomics, size, and weight that really make this knife shine. When you use the finger choil your hand locks into this knife like none other I have used. The thumb ramp is in the perfect spot at the perfect angle with the perfect gimping. It feels much bigger than it's actual size and it's easily the most confident grip I've ever experienced on a knife it's size.It is so light you will forget that you are carrying it yet the build is totally up to any chore you would realistically ask a knife of this size to do. If you need heavy duty you may want to consider the G10 handled version. That version beautiful but a bit overbuilt in my opinion. I have a black one and G10 version I use for EDC and the orange one is my go to knife for lightweight backpacking trips. If you need something bigger the Delica4 is also an amazing knife but lacks the finger choil for maximum control for detail work.
