Be still my heart? Impossible after reading THIS story
I'll admit it. I was wondering how Sabrina Stark would be able to create a heroine that I liked as much as the spunky Chloe Malinsky of the UNBELONGING series. And how could any other hero ever match the incredibly sexy Lawton Rastor? Now I wonder why I even wondered...Selena Moon is a girl you want as a best friend for life (lucky Riley!) She's tough but vulnerable, street smart but still has her dreams intact. And it's a good thing she's all these things because it takes a special kind of girl to be more than a match for Bishop. For those who read UNBELONGING, you'll remember Bishop from his smoldering appearance alongside Lawton Rastor.Confession: I loved Lawton, but I always secretly wanted to see if Bishop was really as cool and sexy and dangerous as he seemed. Wow -- he got his own book, and he delivers the goods (and then some). No matter how many male heroes I've read about, I've never come across one quite like Bishop. (Here's the line that makes a male character sexy. See the line? Okay, now wave because there's Bishop, waaaay over on the other side...the heart-pounding side.)Bishop and Selena are literally star-crossed. It was SO obvious to me as I read that they were soulmates, but oh my god, the twists and turns and misunderstandings and near-misses in their story! Everyone and everything seems to be out to pry them apart. This juicy book is filled with kooks and criminals: Selena's self-absorbed and irresponsible mom (sorry, I meant Crystal), the love-to-hate-that-biyatch Cat Randolph (boo! hiss!), the smooth-talking and gorgeous Conrad Harrison, and an assortment of goons and thugs who threaten Selena at every turn. As they learn the hard way, she's more than a match for them, and when Bishop turns protective...well, I won't spoil it. Let's just say it's...intense.My heart rate is just now slowing after making my way through this action-packed story. And how does it end? By teasing us with yet another intriguing bad boy, barely glimpsed but leaving a lasting impression. Well, hello, Jake...hope to see more of you soon...

Illegal Fortune
Interesting storyline and characters. I liked the feeling!ale lead, but she was.weak willed when it came to our anti hero. The relationship build up didn't have a lot of chemistry. He was sweet to her and patient, also willing to beat people up that hurt her. Bit there was no actual chemistry written. I really liked the MMC, but he was a hot head and blamed FMC for his ultimatum and tantrums. If I was Selena, I never would have gone back home. Her "mom" was an idiot and a piece of work. Being family really should have its limits. One last issue, and it was confusing at times. The time jump back and forth with no warning. Some authors do it well, but most don't. There we're no labels, headings, nothing. At first it was easy, but the more back and forth it went, the harder it was to track. Especially of listening to the book. The mysteries were interesting as were most characters. Told from FMC POV. No cliffhanger. A little steam.

BISHOP, SCANDALOUS AND SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!!!
I have to admit first, that the first 1/4 of the book had me bored to tears and confused as to where this storyline was going. But then the mystery that always seemed to follow being around Bishop came to life. The reader just got of taste of his darkness in the previous books about Lawton. I always wondered what it was that Bishop would always be staying in the shadows just out of sight. He always would appear out of nowhere and just be standing there freaking Selena out. But Selena was a tough little firecracker herself and gave Bishop fits when she always did the opposite of what he told her to do. These two were perfect for each other in so many ways, until the hidden secrets Bishop had threatened to break them apart. Then Selena starts entertaining Conrad's advances by accepting dinner dates, which sent Bishop over the edge. This so backfired on Selena when Conrad decided to get a little revenge in the alley. From that point on Conrad's story really came to life and the suspense began. As Bishop and Selena found out more about her missing friend Edgar, the whole story just got juicer and juicer until the whole truth was revealed. And as usual BISHOP came to Selena's rescue again, why because he loved her for always and refused to let her go. So thrilled the story and mystery surrounding Bishop was told, besides he is too HOT AND SEXY, YUM.

*MUST READ*
Yes! Finally! Yes! I have not read a book that I couldn't put down in a LONG time, this definitely ruined some sleep, in a totally awesomely (yep awesomely) good way.I had to remind myself it's FICTION. There are some things I couldn't quite get my mind around with all the deaths etc, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. Selena and her mom's, please, call her Crystal, lol, dynamic was THE FUNNIEST part of the entire book. I mean the comedic relief was amazing. Literally, SO FUNNY.SPOILER - DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW:Kind of one of my only issues was Selena and the wall she had up, it was relentless, in a strong way. She didn't want to slip back into anything with Bishop, which is fine. Throughout the book you are getting pieces of their past which was great and you were starting to get to the point of the one night they broke up yada yada. My only issue, really, was her thoughts always went back to him, but I didn't feel like the change between her steering clear and falling back to him again. That transition wasn't so real for me. Both sides of it were fine, but just the movement from one to the other. Probably just me.....Book was great - buy buy buy!

Would have been 4 stars of not for Selena's mother
I enjoyed nearly everything about this story, mostly Bishop. I like a hero who is a man of few words and mysterious. I detested Selena's mother, incredibly selfish woman and Selena had no agency where she was concerned and it was irritating how she allowed her to have such control over her decisions.

Fantastic read
I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to read this book. The cast of characters are brilliantly put together, Bishop is your quintessential possessive alpha male but he's continually thwarted by the quirky Selena. You've got comedy pairing with Selena's two younger brothers and her mother is mad as a batter and all this is centred around a conspiracy resulting in murders as well as the 'will they won't they', relationship between Selena and Bishop. I found myself getting completely absorbed by this book, it had me laughing out loud through a lot of it. Entirely worth reading and I've immediately gone and downloaded Unbelonging.

Illegal Fortunes...
Oh Bishop I knew I'd love you! After reading Rebelonging & Unbelonging, I'd hoped for a Bishop book and I was not disappointed!Selena has a very dry wit about her which I loved, Crystal is just a loony bin lol and Bishop is a hot, moody, mysterious bad boy head over heels in love!Gripping storyline, mysteries, murders, twists, turns, humour and sexiness - loved it!!!Can't wait to read more of the Bishop Brothers!!
