What Is...

I came late to the Richie Kotzen party. First heard him during his very brief stint with Poison. Bought one of his solo CDs afterwards (Bi Polar Blues )...then nothing until he formed the Winery Dogs. Sadly, his solo CDs never seem to get distribution to the music stores in Denver. ( We have several good ones ). So,I've been buying them via Amazon. Everything he's put out have been really enjoyable . "What Is " is a really good bluesy singer/songwriter effort that reminds me more than a bit of Mellencamp,Springsteen, Seger and Fogerty. Good stuff indeed.

Astounding talent, just floors me that I just discovered him, probably towards the end of his career.

One of the catchiest all-rock Kotzen record I've heard so far. Best fast tracks are Cross the Line, followed by What Is, Locked Out, Too Deep, & Open Your Eyes. Best slow tracks are Lose Again, followed by You Got a Fire, You Don't Owe Me, & Angie. Don't skip the slow tracks.

Richie Kotzen is a mucician I had never heard of until I purchased the "The winery dogs" CD,(which is awesome) so I started looking in to Richie Kotzen,it's amazing to me that I had never heard of such a prolific and talented song writer & musician.I'm just glad I'm aware of him now.

Richie has that total altogether package---amazing chopps---soulful voice---songwriting talent---fender tone---shred sense---fuzz freindly---pop rockish---rythm & blues---always rockin---under the radar---hellva guy !!!

This guy is such a great guitarist/singer/songwriter, I marvel that he is not better known.
