Works as advertised, unfortunately runs VERY HOT!
So far, this does exactly what it advertises to do. HDMI has been going through it perfectly (putting up a screen2 from my MacBook to a Samsung monitor), and power goes through powering my MacBook, keeping it charged up.USB ports also work - I've done some file transfers from memory sticks, etc.Haven't yet used the memory card slots or the networking port. I have no doubts they would work.So - it does what it does, so why only 2 stars???This thing runs EXTREMELY HOT! Even when using it for just USB-C power and the HDMI port (minimal concurrent usage, really, considering all it can do), I can't put my bare hand on it for more than a few seconds without it actually hurting. And this is a device that is in the wide open - no issues with no airflow or being in a confined spot.In fact, I now worry about any flammables (paper, headphone cords, etc) being anywhere near it.All that being said, I did buy a $5 heatsink to place on top, to see if that helps. I really would like to keep it, because it really does everything you'd want from one USB-C cord to your (most likely) MacBook...

Finally, the HDMI/GigE/Power/USB USB-C adapter I've been waiting for
UPDATE 12 Apr 2016: Unit has always been hot from the very first moment as I said below. But now the Ethernet stops working several times a day for the past couple of days. Not sure if the heat is destroying components (mine is actually elevated so air can get below it) or if there is a driver issue. I'll try updating the driver, but was certainly expecting more than two months of life.------- ORIGINAL 5-star Review Below -------Finally! This is (almost) exactly what I have been looking for. I've needed a GigE connection for a few months now and this solves everything in one sleek package. This is for my MacBook 12" in my work office. It connects an Asus PB278 (not 4k) 27" monitor, GigE fed from the back of a Cisco CP-8841 VoIP phone, Logitech HD Pro C920 Webcam, and of course the Apple power supply. Why did I put the "almost" qualifier? Because I had to install a third party NEO gigabit Ethernet driver. That was the first driver I've installed in years, and to be honest as I typed my Administrator password to install the driver, I flinched a little bit with worry of if the driver might be installing spyware or a virus. If there is anyway to get a chipset that has the driver already distributed by Apple in MacOSX then that would make this device perfect. I did NOT knock a star off of this rating for this though, because I'm very happy to be getting 500Mbps up/down from my office where I was lucky to get 5Mbps up/down on WiFi just a few minutes ago... and it does exactly what it said it would do.I've had this installed for about 45-minutes and it is working perfectly so far. If something changes, then I'll be sure to update this review. The unit does get quite warm to the touch after these initial 45-minutes, we'll see if that has any long-term consequences. So far, great job Minix! Thank you!

The adapter does work for USB and Ethernet pretty easy on a 2015 MacBook 12"
Purchased this adapter from here at Amazon. The adapter does work for USB and Ethernet pretty easy on a 2015 MacBook 12". Despite what OS X version I run I have never got the HDMI display to work. It looks like some units require a firmware update that isn't readily available to download and only loadable via Windows.I give this unit 1 star because it requires much intervention to get the device working as advertised.

Great product, didn't last a year though :(
Updated to 2 stars now as it's completely stopped working all of a sudden.************ Original 5* ReviewIt's a great form factor and is compatible with my MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016). Only annoyance is that you need to find a driver for the ethernet port. It's not obvious where to get it and how to make sure your version is the current version.

Added Functionality/Features
This product allowed a few more added features to my HP Elite x2 1012 (2-in-1 hybrid) with Windows 10 Home. I have the minix model with HDMI output but I'd also needed a VGA out. Instead of purchasing another minix with VGA output, I bought a HDMI->VGA adapter instead and this worked well since I don't need simultaneous HDMI-VGA out. Like previous reviews, it is noticeable the unit really gets pretty hot to the touch. I attach a photo showing what's plugged in to my unit - iPhone USB, external USB drive, HDMI, SD card, wired ethernet and the computer's USB-C charger connected to the minix pass-through. Everything's working with no special driver installation. The USB-C pass-through is definitely a convenience, should even be a must for all USB-C devices out there. I'm sold to the USB-C standard and minix has implemented it effectively.

The HDMI works fine with my LG G5
This product doesn't work with Yoga 900. No HDMI output. The Ethernet and USB ports worked with the Yoga 900.The HDMI works fine with my LG G5, but I don't need it for my phone. I returned it.For the Yoga 900, I can only find stand-alone HDMI adapters that work. Because of that I continue to use an USB 3 to Ethernet adapter in addition to the USB -C to HDMI.I will continue to look.

Perfect
The design is beautiful, small, good weight, excellent materials, perfect for a desk hub.The ports works as expected. I haven't been able to test much, but it charges well, I used different USBs, Ethernet, and HDMI to 1080. Haven't tested the memory cards slot yet.It gets warm, but nothing terrible, just like the MacBook. The price is quite high, but for now it was worth it I think.

so far, so good
So far, I can't find any fault with the device. I have not been using it long and I will update this review if something does not work correctly.
