Lockable Reinforced Stainless Steel Tie Down Straps 11 Foot

I have used these on several trips across country and they work really well. Simple to use, tighten down easy and don't come loose. I tightened them down on the east coast and didn't have to retighten or worry about my kayaks until I took them off on the west coast. :)

The straps are very nice, though I have not tried to cut them to see if they actually would hold up against someone taking a pocket knife to them (to take what they are securing). The lock mechanism with key does not always lock/unlock easily. I have to futz around a bit. The key itself is "fragile", easily bendable, so care must be taken when locking/unlocking and not going smoothly.

Sometimes in life you get what you pay for. Kanu Locks are such a time. I'm glad I bought this product. It is easy to use and adds peace of mind knowing that my boards are secured to my rack and WILL still be there if I stop somewhere along the way from or to paddling. The straps are plenty long enough to secure several boards should you need to. The pads around the locks prevent any damage to your vehicle. The locks themselves work easily. This is a great product from a great company.

It's the best I've come across for tying boards/boat onto the car and locking them. Actually the ONLY locking tie downs I've come across. The tie downs themselves are a good thickness and tighten really well through the cam locks. These are much easier to use and more secure even without the locks than basic tie downs. No slippage.Two downfalls:1) As others have mentioned, the key is ridiculously flimsy and sort of sticks when turned in lock, which definitely should be improved. Feels like it will inevitably break off in the lock.2) Oddly, the locks have their identifying number on them, which means once a thief knows about these locks, they need only request a replacement key from the manufacturer with that same number (01-99 I think).I was mildly annoyed that I couldn't order a second set of keys with my original purchase. The company said I would need to open my package first and then separately request another set with that 2 digit number. Would've thought they could just as easily look at the lock and add the backup keys to the original order. Oh well.

I use my straps for timing surfboardS to a roof rack. Very high quality. Built heavy duty to last a lifetime. I can't fathom a more secure lockable strap. Expensive but probably a good value based upon expected life, security and how nice they work. The locking cam is heavy duty with no rubber protection. Therefore, you don't want to throw the cam across your vehicle for tieing down things like surfboards unless you own a beater!

These cables are excellent! I bought a cheaper version that sprung steel belts after the first use. These are as flexible as your regular strap but still sturdy. The key is pretty lightweight so my only suggestion is to be gentle when locking, as I bent my first key. KanuLocks immediately sent me a replacement key. These straps give me peace of mind since I keep my kayak on my car pretty much all the time. Protect your investment and get these locks! I've shared this info with all my kayaking groups, I recommend them that much!

Doesn't work, fully strapped down and locked, you can partially depress the release and easily remove the strap. Defeats the point of the product.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the security aspect but I knew I needed something.Upon further inspection of the product I see that it is designed very well, overall good quality and easy to use.The only issue I have experienced is with the rubber around the keyhole as it is thin in that area and prone to break after heavy use. Not sure if there are replacements for this from the mfg.
