Rituals [Blu-ray]

Scorpion Releasing releases this 1978 suspense-action-drama directed by Peter Carter about five Doctor friends (played by Hal Holbrook, Lawrence Dane, Robin Gammell, Ken James and Gary Reineke) vacationing in the remote Canadian wilderness as campers near a river, who find themselves unwittingly targeted by an unknown and seemingly insane local who wants them terrorized and then dead, and the groups attempt to uncover his motives and of course survive the ordeal....First released on DVD by Code Red, this edition had an impressive brand new (2018) HD remaster from the best surviving film elements, porting over the previous extras, though nothing new was added. Effective film works quite well, made on real locations giving it a distinct air of authenticity. Not entirely original of course, but good script proceeds logically to a striking and memorable ending. Worth the upgrade.

I actually liked the storyline. Kind of a poor man's Deliverence. A bit of a dragged out story. DVD was a bit pricey. But I am a big Hal Holbrook fan

good survival movie! been waiting for it to come out with a blu ray. movie was always a little dark but for me that just adds to it. Hal Holbrook always shines but this is one his best and more unusual(for him)!

I was expecting more gore from this film. The acting is great. Good atmosphere but not enough to buy the bluray. I'd suggest renting this one if you can. It's worth a watch but not one you'll want to rewatch

I love '70s movies and I love old Thrillers and horror movies and of course Deliverance is a great movie but this was boring and the characters did dumb crap the hallway through it. I think people only enjoy it cuz they love seeing all the gore . Well Gore doesn't make a movie a good one does it?

Come ho detto nel titolo, il film è introvabile, se non in lingua originale restaurato ad opera CODE RED. Tra l'altro il film mi è piaciuto molto. Il problema è che la traccia audio è pessima, così come la qualità delle immagini, semplicemente imbarazzante. Però (per adesso): o così... o niente!

Terrible sub VHS quality. A shame - there's a great film here, but it struggles to be seen at all in the night time sequences. Buyer beware!
