I liked that it was written to inform those new to bladesmithing terminology and information with regard to different metals used and color associations used to determine temperatures for use in heat treating and intro to tempering. The downside as you read the complete book it’s like you are reading the same text for the three books. It’s good information but there is very little difference that appears to have been copied and pasted into the next two books.

Book was clearly USED condition, not new. A post it note was taped inside the front cover, the binding had been used (book opened), and the corners were dented.

I bought this as an intermediate knife smith to add to my knowledge and collection of forging books... unlike other books I've purchased, this one seems poorly done, and at times I question if the information is even correct.

The book is poorly written; consequently, processes are misrepresented surprisingly often. It reads as though a person with poor writing skills penned it for a person with limited experience in the very subject it seeks to present. It can be useful, but it cannot be considered reliable in my opinion. I wish I had not purchased it.
