Songs From My Heart

I enjoy Broadway tunes and Miss Holden has the voice to bring these songs to life. I am very pleased with this purchase.

i certainly love amanda the judge; she is endlessly beautiful and charming and witty, and seems kind hearted as a judge, a wonderful 'good' cop to simon cowell's 'bad'. so i'm a fan of amanda and was eager to snap up a record by her, hoping to hear a real show stopping voice.alas, i hate to say IMO this is not to be; amanda has a good solid voice, pleasant and safe, but i don't think she would advance with four yeses in her own BGT contest. not a show stopping voice, not the extremes of emotion and performance acting you would need to win on BGT. but i'm listening to the record, letting it loop, and it is certainly pleasant and listenable. so i would say it is good, not great.this tepid response of mine certainly does nothing to discount amanda the judge; like an nfl coach, most of whom were mediocre players, but smart players, with this level of accomplishment, you are still clearly an expert in the field, able to evaluate talent and even possibly produce well; this record absolutely establishes amanda as an expert in her BGT role. I know Amanda served on stage with acclaim; I think this record even proves that she could perform well in a musical; the person on this record could be the narrator in joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat, which is a big part and requires everything you see here. But could this person deliver the intensity and emotion of mary magdelene in jesus christ superstar, or fantine in les miserables? or the full range of complexity of norma desmond in sunset boulevard? I would have to hear more before I would go that far.if you are a fan of amanda the judge, i think you can buy with confidence; there's nothing wrong with these performances; it's just that, on the higher expectations you might have, i'd have to caution that you may find that there's not enough 'right' with them. i don't think she could make a go of it at this level without her celebrity. ie. if a kardashian made these recordings, you'd be pleasantly surprised that the said kardashian had this much talent, because you assume they have nothing but their looks and wealth going for them.by the same token you assume a judge on BGT is either a distinguished critic/producer or a great performer. amanda IS a distinguished performer, so i thought this record would reach greater heights. i wanted to love it as much as i love her. perhaps a producer who pushes her a lot harder could get a more electrifying record out of her, because she does have talent and has a good voice, she is as beautiful as anyone could ask, and i assume from BGT that she has a good stage presence. but they haven't found that magic combination yet. i've heard this record has sold well, amanda's celebrity gives her a foot in the door with the audience, for the producers, i think it's worth another try. I think the magic could still be right around the corner.

I don't know... I'm not an enormous fan of what I've heard here. Amanda is a stunningly beautiful woman and she has a nice enough voice, but this just seems kind of lacking in emotion or conviction of any kind, as if she is just going through the motions of singing. As an example, the song "With You" seems to be kind of "listless". I recall seeing a woman on BGT who performed this number and just killed it. Then there's "Somewhere" (There's A Place For Us). I've recently seen a very young Youtube sensation by the name of Lucy Thomas who's cover of this just destroys Amanda's. And I'm not certain trying to do anything Barbra Streisand has performed is an especially wise decision.I don't wish to be mean spirited, it's a nice enough piece of music to put on while doing my house chores on the weekend but I'm not going to be listening to it when I want to sit back and critically listen to music in a great pair of headphones. The beauty of music is that there is always something for everybody. This won't be in regular rotation for me.

She has a beautiful voice. The songs on this album are mostly "oldies" (Don't Cry for me Argentina - Over the Rainbow - Huckabye Mountain) some songs I'm not familiar with but were all sung beautifully. The music is slow tempo - not the fast paced music of today.

I had only seen Amanda Holden as a talent judge. When I heard her sing and promote this album I knew I had to order it. I was not disappointed. Her voice is full of tender emotion. I thoroughly enjoy listening to her.

Where do I start? Such a revelation after all these years in showbiz to suddenly record this outstanding album.I cannot help noticing the similarity at times to Agnetha Faltskog which is no bad thing. I hope this leads to a full on recording career as I am now a confirmed fanand hope she reaches great heights in this new phase! I notice all these negative people giving only one star have not bought the CD.How do know they what all the songs are like. Criticising her for the sake of it methinks as Amanda collects all the royalties which will be pouringIn now it's high in THE CHARTS!
