For the answered question: Is it fireproof- NO!!!It's made from recycled plastic bottles. I flamed a corner to test it, just a lit match and 3 seconds, it was self-sustaining flame.I would not use this anywhere near an engine compartment. Any small fire can turn disastrous because of this stuff.*With that said- the price is right and is working perfectly in my trunk and doors. Using the 3M Super 77 spray (also bought here), this bonds perfectly to the inside of my door panels and pre-formed trunk carpet sections, to make things substantially quieter and cooler than before.*Please buy the glass spun aluminized product made for the purpose of going in the engine compartment.*Combined with Dynamat Extreme for super quiet ride that no one else has. Using to replace the Jute that a mouse had his way with in my Mustang. This stuff is great!! Easy to cut, very well insulated, and easy to install with 3M automotive adhesive spray (77 I think) Very VERY happy with it and will orger more.

seems to work. reduced the noise, easy to install with spray adhesive. only problem was with the spray adhesive filling my car with toxic fumes. leave your windows or hatch open to let it fully dry if you use spray adhesive. also wear gloves and a respirator. it was difficult to cut. I think you need to have a good pair of heavy duty scissors. a utility knife might also work.

Glued this to VNL Volvo firewall as the original stuff fell off. Works great for sound and heat. Super dense high quality stuff thats still flexible.

I have to say that I didn't noticed a significant noise reduction from the road after I putting it into my minivan.

We aided this to eliminate some of the noise on our Ez GO Golfcart. It worked really well. It also seems to have cut some of them fumes. We stapled it to the underside of middle seat of the 6 passenger cart

I wish it would be thicker or better sound protective. Did not do what I was expecting. Installed on the doors of reefer. Did not kill the sound

I needed some insulation for an HVAC unit, and this worked very well. I used high-temp spray adhesive and the function and quality are excellent.
