The floor panel gets hotter than the walls on its default heat setting—a little too hot for bare feet but okay when wearing thick socks. I’m using mine in the knee hole of my desk without the top piece. The heat flows up around my keyboard drawer which helps my hands to not get so cold too.

I have been using this for about 2 weeks and it was such a good choice for me. It consume a small amount of power. I don’t have to worry about the power circuit off. It was way better than radiator heater or radiant heater. No buzzing noise. This is a good solution for cold office environments.

The heater works well. MY desk is in a corner of a large room opposite the heat source and in front of a floor to ceiling window.The view inspires me, but the cold concrete floor made me feel so miserable. ... and this is the answer.WARNING: Plan to get it, then put it somewhere like a garage or unused room for the horrible smell to off gas. The item is carpeted and is smells like new carpet or carpet glue. VERY VERY STRONG plastic smell! I made the mistake of opening it in the room. Even using a fan and opening the door to let the room exhaust outside, the smell lingered a long time. It's almost totally gone now.. just a hint. Been 10 days. First few days the worst... not tolerable, but after that it has been fine.

I purchased two of these back in December of 2020. One for the wife and one for me. We use them under our home office desks. They perform very well. Get plenty warm. They have adjustable temps, and on time.They also auto shutoff. Overall a good purchase

EDIT:I originally gave this 4/5 stars, but within a month this thing burnt itself and nearly caught on fire. I was one day past the return window, but luckily the Amazon rep I spoke to still let me return it after they heard what happened. A blanket I had over my lap still has scorch marks on it! It could have been really dangerous!---ORIGINAL REVIEW:I’m really sensitive to smell, but husband isn’t. He says that the smell out of the package isn’t very noticeable , but I think it’s overwhelming. Very strong plastic/chemical scent, so that’s why I knocked off a star. However, it fires work very well. It heats up in seconds and can get quite hot. I hope to put this under my home office desk because it gets pretty chilly in there, but I think it’s been commandeered as a cat warmer instead. 🤷‍♀️ Cats give it 10/10.

It worked well. Accidentally left my pj on it over night and it burned. Becareful not to leave stuff on it.

It's okay, but only the bottom flap actually generates heat. The walls don't really hold in or reflect much of that warmth. While the bottom does get scorching hot on the highest setting (far too hot to rest my feet on in just socks in my home office), the next highest setting is barely warm enough to be noticeable. So I either have to wear shoes and crank it up to get a very little bit of ambient heat for my legs, or I have to be barefoot using the second setting and just accept that it barely provides any warmth. I would recommend finding a similar product that actually provides heat from the sides if you're looking for a consistent, comfortable experience. I had much better luck draping a large blanket over my desk like a tablecloth and putting a small electric space heater down there- I just have to remember to unplug it whenever I walk away for safety.

Update April 2024: I bought this in Oct 2022, and it's still keeping my toes warm. I got in the habit of turning on this foot warmer before my work PC.Original:My office desk faces a drafty old window; I'm glad I bought it. So far, it's been very comfortable. 115F is the default, which is way hot for me; I always set at 105F or 95F.
