Good psychological thriller
I enjoyed this story, which really brings the main character to life and is well written wriiten, but I wouldn't call it a horror story. Most of the action is in the main character's mind, as she goes about her domestic days, as a pregnant woman adjusting to a new house and brooding over issues in her marriage. Within that context, the author does a good job of building the subtle tensions between husband and wife, and the hints that something is not right in the new house they've moved into. I really liked all the characters and most of the story (the very ending let me down, with a significant plot hole but I won't give a spoiler here). Much of the story involves the wife's concerns and experience of being pregnant, so it might not be interesting to a lot of men, but as a woman, I think the author conjured the psychology very well. If you're looking for extreme scares, buy something else, but if you like subtle psychological thrillers, this is a good one, overall. (Again, the very ending was a bit off.)

Incredible
I don't want to give spoilers, but I do want to urge those of you reading this review to trust that this book will suck you in... body and soul... and you will read. You will turn the pages slowly at first as you meet the characters. As you become familiar with each of them... then you will turn the pages faster as the story grips you until you find yourself frantic to get to the end. And then you will need for another chapter, a sequel... because yes... the story is that good. Kudos Megan. I will never forget this one.

Little secrets
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written the characters e rd and STORY line was very good. Just thought should have had a little more detail at the end in regards to the secrets that were discovered. Don't want to give away story. Maybe a book about the secrets would be good.

Complex characters, darkness, creepiness, and a strong sense of foreboding...
I always appreciate a book that is different. It's not likely you'll see the end coming...I certainly didn't. And I appreciate that on so many levels. Complex characters, drama, darkness, creepiness, strong emotions and a sense of foreboding. I definitely recommend this story for anyone who wants a book that isn't predictable.

Disturbing book
This is a book filled with secrets. Nothing is quite as it seems. It's well written but slow to unfold. The ending was a surprise and felt rushed. I would have liked a follow up chapter on the outcome of everyone involved in the mystery. To explain more would be a spoiler. I enjoyed Ms Hart's Quarry Rd series. I didn't enjoy this book.

Suspense - Don't read in the dark!
The book kept my interest the whole time...Hard to put down, actually. A lot happened at the end and seemed a bit rushed and compacted but I really enjoyed this book. Definitely gave me the willows at times!

Good read
Was so not what I expected. Pleasantly surprised. Not super scary. Suspenseful. Easy to get into. Heading to find another of hers to read.

Pacing could use work, but still good
Practically nothing happens in the first three quarters of the book, but then it gets really interesting and a LOT happens.
