GROSS FLAVOR!
I love the taste of filtered water. I left water in this overnight (a little less than 8 hours) and it was very disgusting tasting. The first night, it tasted coppery (obviously), which tastes like blood, btw. If you've ever had a rough flossing experience, you know the taste. The second night, it tasted like something completely different and way grosser than that copper taste. I looked inside and saw some black spots, but this is considered normal and every site you find about copper water bottles say not to worry about it. It's just copper oxide and lets you know the product is real copper and it's working to purify your water. You don't have to clean this off. If you want to, they say you can use a little lemon juice and salt or vinegar and salt to remove the oxide.Researching all of this, I came across some contradictory ideas about copper water bottles. Some sites say to clean them, never use dish soap, some say to do a light wash with dish soap, some say to use boiling water and some say never to use boiling water. I am pretty sure I basically figured out all the reasons for the discrepancies, but it is comical how poorly-worded the instructions are everywhere considering the people writing them are proponents, manufacturers or sellers of these products.I would imagine the reason some of the instructions that say "don't ever insert boiling water" are saying not to try drinking hot water from it. Unfortunately, the way they describe the problem is like this: "it will damage your bottle and cause excess copper to seep into the water." This sounds like your bottle is completely ruined and you should throw it away. The same problem for instructions that say never to put anything but water in it because anything acidic such as juice or milk will damage the bottle and excess copper will seep into the juice or milk making it taste bad. And the same goes for sites that say "never use dish soap, use lemon juice only to clean it." If acidic juice ruins the bottle, then lemon juice would obviously ruin it, so the instructions to clean it only with lemon juice make no sense. The sites that say to insert boiling water to clean it are trying to avoid dish soap for some odd reason, but they don't say the boiling water damages the bottle...because it doesn't. The sites that say it damages the bottle are not wording it properly. Temporarily, boiling water causes more copper ions to seep into the water and it will taste bad as well as not be the greatest for your health. Dish soap isn't going to hurt it, either.I almost wonder if the poor instructions and conflicting instructions everywhere are for people who notice the water tastes terrible after letting it sit in the bottles for 6-8 hours as instructed. I'm sure a lot of people think they must have damaged their bottle when trying to clean it by using dish soap or inserting boiling water or maybe putting too much lemon juice in it.Regardless of all this, the taste is absolutely terrible if you leave water in for 6-8 hours as instructed. The fact that it tastes so bad makes me think the science guys who say this is quackery and may actually be toxic just might be correct. Waste of $20 right here. Throwing it away.

Looks great! Light weight, easy to hold. Cold water tastes great in this water bottle! Cover seals easy and no leaks! Very sharp looking .

Threads are sloppy
It can often be a hassle to thread the lid onto the bottle, and once it starts to thread on, it isn't smooth
