Not quite Nocturnal
Still a great album and these guys are and will always be legends. Necropolis is such a good track and a hilarious music video

They haven't lost it!
I didn't really know what to think when I purchased Deflorate and be quite honest I was a little nervous. Whenever bands get a new guitarist the band usually changes its sound completely and it's never the same. So, is not the case with Deflorate. Ryan Knight (from Arsis) is a welcomed addition to the band in every way possible. He really stepped up the solo's in precession and technicality all while not taking away from the reoccurring theme of John's solo's Ryan really bridged the gap to still make the music flow. The new songs might take a little getting used to but all in all the music is still brutal and amazing. Trevor has also reached a new high on this album as his screaming and guttural grows get better as does his lyrics and his timing. Shannon's drumming however is not what I would thought it would be it terms of complexity but it still gets the job done. I would say that overall this album is not lacking it's still fast paced and a good addition to their catalogue of music. This CD isn't Nocturnal nor should it be but it definitely stands on it's own and will be welcomed addition to your music collection. Pick this album and you won't be disappointed.

Great Album
This is thought to be one of the weaker albums from The Black Dahlia Murder based on most reviews and fan comments I've read but I disagree and was pleasantly surprised. This was a transition album for the band after changing guitar players and I think the change in the bands sound caught some people off guard but when you hear the follow up to this album, Ritual, you can tell where the band's sound has evolved. By they time Ritual came out the band had gone from having many similar sounding songs on an album to each song having its own distinct sound and a clearer melody in each song. The new album, Everblack, comes out next month and I'm hopeful that it's as good as the rest of their albums.

An Alright Album
This is an alright album by The Black Dahlia Murder. It's not their best, but it's not their worst either. Check it out if you haven't already.

Three Stars
Not my favorite but a transitional album with some real bangers on it.

Black Dahlia Murder - "Deflorate"
BDM has brought back an older, raw, and more organic sound. Coupled with their skill and style they have progressed so well in, through out the years. The album opens with an epic, fast paced assault on the senses, called "Black Valor". Which includes very brutal, yet melodic verses and chorus. As the album began, and much like the previous two albums ended. BDM brings the album home with another epic, fast-paced, juggernaut, filled with melodies.. A some what epitaph, called "I will return".The songs and album are short. Leaving the listener wanting more!!!

Hängt nun eingerahmt an meiner Wand. Lovecraft geht.SB

fantastico
Penso sia un must have per chi ama questo gruppo e per chi ama il genere Death Metal/Deathcore.
