Dyson Genuine DC40 Upright Vacuum Cleaner Change Over Valve Hose, Grey

Just what we needed. Fit the machine perfectly. Was tricky to replace, but thanks to YouTube was able to do this repair. Suction is back to normal and is like new. Holding up so far, but due to the function of the tube and it's constant movement, I am sure it will have to be replaced again at some point.

Our Dyson DC40 stopped vacuuming well. Symptoms were suction was substantially diminished on hardwood floors where the spinning roller isn't supposed to spin, as well as the tube/hose suction. After checking and cleaning filters, taking it apart, cleaning out the hoses and tunnelways I could see, it didn't help after I reassembled it. A deeper dive when inspecting the hoses revealed this little hose was cracked with big holes. Found online videos to resolve the issue, ordered this part and fixed it easily. Main thing is having the right driver bits to unscrew everything.Now, if there's a downside, the suction is SO good, it can pull up the carpet in hardwood floor mode (see picture). The suction is that well restored.

Perfect-fit replacement for change-over hose that has split with age. I recommend buying the red-ended “internal” hose if you haven’t changed that one before, and change both of them at the same time - it’ll be disassembled anyway.The replacement process isn’t simple but it’s not extremely complex either. You’ll need several rather small Torx drivers, but if you get them and these hoses, and find a YouTube instructional video, you can save $$ that you’d otherwise spend at the repair shop.

Looked up some videos on YouTube and it was easy to replace the part and have my Dyson Vaccum cleaner work again.

This part saved my Dyson vacuum! With Dyson being such an expensive appliance, buying a replacement part to extend its life was a no-brainer. The repair process was simple, and after installing the part, my vacuum was back to working like new. Highly recommend for anyone looking to restore their Dyson without the cost of a full replacement!
